Ace thread, what a top bloke and car collection.

Do you have any bikes as well? If so and you are ever in S Wales, give me a shout smile

If not, I'm sure I could put up with seeing the LFA or one of the amazing other cars you own biggrin
I sold all my bikes (big collection too!) after I had a seizure after brain surgery. Couldn’t risk it and didn’t want to put my family through the stress.

Ah no worries, that's understandable smile

Do you have an list of your old ones or just some of your faves ?
I toured through Italy and Switzerland on my GS1200 adventure, it performed effortlessly. I had lots of sports & superbikes and some supermoto’s, they were good fun but nothing like that BMW. Still got my KX250F just in case I ever buy a farm haha. I used to love racing every weekend in MX. Just can’t do it anymore.

Obviously you’re a busy man 2MC but if you have a spare hour can you just film the LFA being revved over and over?! It has to be up there with the best sounding car of all time.
I’ll do you one better, I’ll put my LFA and my Porsche CGT next together and rev both the V10s at the same time

Hi everyone
Sorry I’ve not been replying much on here, I’ve been having a bad time lately with my health. My brain is still healing and the scar tissue from my surgery is causing a lot of issues even 3 years on. I’ll try to reply to as many people as I can but as you can appreciate typing is screwing up my eyes at the moment.

I've been keeping an eye on this thread and sorry if you have already mentioned this but I just wondered if your experiences were the same as mine.
I came home from hospital saturday night after suffering a seizure very early friday morning. I don't really remember much about except for the amazing paramedics trying to coax me from out under the bed. I seemed to have shot up, groaned and moaned, fell out of bed, smashed my face on the radiator and collapsed in a heap with blood coming out of my eyes and mouth, the wife was rather scared as you can imagine.
Anyway cut a long story short I have some sort of cyst on my brain since birth and with work stress it decided to stop me in my tracks for a bit.
I'm trying now to piece things back together memory wise.
But yes very scary and totally takes you by surprise. All the best to you for the future.
Hi
I’m sorry to hear about your seizure (sounds like it was a grand mal) which can be terrifying. I hope you’re recovering well.
You might be wondering why you’re only having a seizure now, well that’s just simply timing. A seizure is due to the electricity in the brain misfiring and causing it to literally reboot. My neurosurgeon said if we lived to be a million years old then EVERYONE would have at least one seizure in their lives.
A seizure is bad, especially a grand mal seizure but living with the anxiety of having another one is even worse. There’s some days where I’m simply just ‘holding on’ to life and hoping I can get through the day without one, even though I’ve not had one in ages.
As far as the cyst is concerned then I am truly sorry to hear about that. If they are calling it a cyst then you’ve already had an MRI. My tumour was called a colloid cyst, and it’s usually in one of the hardest to reach places in your brain. It’s in the foramen of monro in the 3rd ventricle. Basically slap bang in the middle of the brain (between the two ventricles) and at the base of the middle. It’s a very intrusive surgery and one that leaves a LOT of scar tissue in the grey matter. I really really hope you’ve not got a colloid cyst but if you have then it’s a case of getting that sucker ripped out. I went in for my surgery on Monday 15th December 2014 after collapsing in Las Vegas in the October (just like how you described your episode), the surgeons said that I’d have been dead by the Friday if I’d not have had the surgery due to hydrocephalus in my left ventricle. It was so enlarged that I was literally a ticking time bomb. They said if I’d have just bent over to tie my shoelaces then I’d have put too much pressure on my ventricle and I’d have simply just died there and then (I never tie my laces so I’m lucky, really really lucky). I pushed for the surgery too as I was going to Miami in the April for the ultra music festival so I wanted to be healthy again (not realising that it takes approximately 10 years to get anywhere near normal).
Please ask your doctors to do a full MRI on you, especially looking for a CSF build up in any of your ventricles. A cyst in the brain is a silent killer but I’m not too sure about a cyst ON the brain.
I wish you all the best with your current situation and please feel free to email me if you have any concerns or simply just want to speak. It can be a very dark, lonely and confusing time dealing with seizures due to the brain. I’m here if you need to offload your worries or thoughts.
Stay strong.
Pete

They’ve finished my LFA now, can’t wait to get it home. They’re putting the finishing touches to my M2, looking great I think. More of my cars to come so I was thinking about closing this thread and just setting up a new one comparing the differences between them all, giving unbiased, non sponsored reviews. What do you guys think? Should I just keep it about the LFA or would it be good to see the others?

Cheers

Pete

Ok then, the thread stays. Thanks for all the positive feedback people.
I’ll be sure to drop in details of my new cars whenever they arrive.

Here is a summary of what cars are coming to me before the end of the year.

My DB5 is being delivered to me next week, some time after Xmas day.
My 458 Aperta is back at Topaz today and will be dropped back off next week.
Same as the LFA.
Aston Works have just tracked me down a Beautiful DB2/4 which I think I’ll take.
Got Franco from Joe Macari on the lookout for a 300sl Gullwing.
My 675lt should be finishing it’s yearly service now so that’ll be back in storage until after winter.
My 695 is on the drive and looking as beautiful as ever.
Just waiting on delivery for my F355 and 599 GTO now then I can rest for Xmas.
After all this, I owe someone on here a video of the LFA & CGT next to each other revving their nuts off.

That video will be coming soon.

Cheers

Pete

Hi everyone
Hope you’ve all had a good break and managed to relax. December is always a busy time for me so sorry if I’ve not replied to many people on here.
Anyway, my LFA should be with me next week, along with my Speciale Aperta and M2 all coming back from Topaz. Hopefully I’ll get some pictures of them all together at Topaz under the right light tomorrow. My DB5 gets delivered on Saturday. Aston Works are starting the interior refurb on my DB2/4 in January.
Thought I’d share some pictures with you wonderful people. Oh and I’ve got a 300sl gullwing coming early next year too.

I lost track of this thread ,have we found the whereabouts of the Ferrari 250 yet ?
A friend seems to think he knows of its whereabouts. I’ll be picking up the search in the new year.

Here’s the last picture of it I have before it went to be sandblasted.
This was before my surgery so I can’t really remember what happened after that!!

Just curious really - where do you keep all these cars - have you a massive Bond-villain underground garage or are they all over the place?
I have a BIG storage unit which I aim to fill.

Very interested in how you guys look after such fleets.. do you employ someone fulltime to care for them and keep them "alive" and arrange servicing etc??
I have also been curious about this sort of thing as well. I find it tricky enough keeping up with my cars needs and I only have one! Especially relevant when you are adding classics to the collection, I'm sure they demand more looking after than the latest cars.
Just thought I’d answer this one quickly as I’ve finally just got a chance to sit down and try to reply to some of the questions.

Yes I have a company that looks after my cars, it just so happens that they’re also my storage guys so it’s a win win.
It might take a bit of the fun out of the ownership but it’s a necessary evil haha
