Thanks, guessed it was something like that scenario. Yes I bet it does.
My annual insurance just went down to £340. About £50 less than last year. Must be because I’m 51 now.....
Bet you pay that hourly!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s honestly not even worth thinking about. I could buy a very nice car for what I pay a year. I’m tearing up here just typing this haha. I should really cover this on here shouldn’t I??My annual insurance just went down to £340. About £50 less than last year. Must be because I’m 51 now.....

So pleased your back, it was refreshing to follow your down to earth attitude to your passion.
With all the cars you have and particularly the type of exotica you have, have you ever had any of them damaged/stolen etc?
It’s a random question but with thefts as high tech as they are nowadays I wondered if you had fell foul to any.
No, not yet!!With all the cars you have and particularly the type of exotica you have, have you ever had any of them damaged/stolen etc?

There are i’m sure many people on PH who know how this all works. But then there’s the rest of us who haven’t a clue how these kind of ‘problems’ get sorted out. And we’d find the answers pretty fascinating.
Car tax for instance. I don’t want to make a wealthy mans life easier by saying it’s a travesty that you have to tax all your cars (assuming not sorned). But it is never less a travesty. If you have 50 cars you should pay one cover all road tax charge, imho.
I’d like to know many things, like how you rotate the cars, how you decide what you no longer want to own. Also, many cars have certain odd features about them, how do you remember how to operate them all with their little odd features? I have trouble switching from my Audi to the wife’s ford, get frustrated syncing my phone or finding radio five live on her dab radio because the infotainment is so different between the cars. How do you get through swapping around cars I assume quite often..... .and understanding their finer points...
I also take quite a lot of time ‘learning’ to drive my cars with comfort and confidence, how do you manage stepping from one to another.....? How do you get to ‘feel’ how the car best operates when I assume you have a lot of things to do in your life other than drive a big collection of cars....?
Thanks for your time Pete.

I’ll answer them the best way I know how, so don’t think I’m being a cocky dick.
It’s not that I’m super wealthy or had a rich mummy or daddy, the complete opposite in fact. I’m originally from Oldham, which if anyone knows it they’ll know it’s a sinkhole. So I work hard and pay my taxes the same as anyone else. I just invested my time and money into the right things, so I don’t expect a ‘one tax for all cars’ thing as that’s just not fair.
I keep all my cars as that’s my golden rule to staying ‘wealthy’. Don’t sell anything unless you really have to. I don’t have anything SORN as I like to know I can drive any of my cars whenever I want.
As far as learning all the cars idiosyncrasies, I’ve never really had a problem. I think that might be down to my autism though (high functioning) so it just comes naturally.
I can go from driving a 7 speed dogleg manual, to Mclarens SSG, to Ferrari’s paddle shift, then to Rolls Royce’s column shift quite easily.
It takes me less than a minute to ‘connect’ with the car and less than a few miles to know how far I can push it without breaking it.
I don’t listen to radio as it’s too erratic and I freak out a bit if I don’t have structure so I have numerous playlists. Think of the film ‘Baby driver’.
I know it takes me ‘Smokestack lightning’ to drive from my house to my restaurant without traffic.
If there’s a possibility of traffic then it’d be ‘Glorybox’.
When I take delivery of a new car I really don’t care about learning about anything apart from auto syncing my music, that way I know as soon as I sit in any car of mine the music will sync effortlessly.
If it has any glitches then I’ll just leave the car for another day and pick a different one.
I hope this makes sense.
Pete
Hi guys
Today was the day I picked up my F12TDF and got my Zagato back from Topaz detailing. It has been a great day made even better because I got to meet some fantastic people.
Allow me to elaborate.
Last night I received an email from a PH’er called LCarter93 who has been following my last thread and now joined this one.
His email was one of pure selflessness, asking only if I could help his good friend Josh who unfortunately has a few terminal brain tumours and a limited time left on this mortal coil.
I read Josh’s story and it rang too close to home, so with a few phone calls to the fantastic people at Ferrari Wilmslow we had a game plan.
A day at Ferrari, unveiling my TDF, going out in their 488 gtb demonstrator, seeing the inner workings of their workshop and the beautiful Enzos, F50, 575 SA, 250’s, etc etc. Then a blast out in my Lusso with LCarter93, Josh and Josh’s wonderfully upbeat mother whilst recording and capturing the whole day on a few go pros so Josh can relive the day at his own leisure. All topped off with a frightening blast out in my TDF as the rain was bouncing down and Josh was nervously laughing the entire way.
It was a fabulous day with some fantastic people.
I do have Josh and Louis’s (LCarter93) permission to post the link on here and was seeing if anyone else would like to do anything for this amazing 27 year old fighter.
He’s so upbeat and humble about everything life has thrown him.
Please just take a moment to read the article and see what you can do.
No one is asking for money as that won’t help him at this point. It’s more about making some more memories for him at this late stage in his early life.
Thank you
Pete

Thanks for all the kind words everyone it means a lot. Without sounding like I’m not grateful for all the love, which I definitely am. I’d rather just concentrate on the cars and to see what we can do for others.
So with that being said, having posted the link for Josh and what’s he’s constantly battling with on a daily basis, is there anyone else with on here with another great collection of cars, bikes or anything else interesting that he could share in.
Really appreciate it if so, he’s a lovely lad whose been dealt a crappy hand.
Cheers

Thanks for the great reply. Wasn’t trying to make any knocking statement about the wealth or tax situation, clearly you are successful and I’m sure bloody hard working, apologies if it came over that way. ALso clearly you’ve had your share of life’s less easy times.
I never thought that, sorry if you thought I was snapping back. I definitely wasn’t. Sometimes things get lost in translation. You asked some great questions.
Cheers
Pete

Honestly Pete I am in awe of your story. I followed the last thread and will do the same here. I think that you have one of the best car collections in the world, you clearly use them and don't just have them as garage queens which I respect and I think your charity work just makes you an out and out legend. Can't wait to see what the future holds for you.
Awh thanks man. My collection is fairly good but in comparison to a few of my friends it looks like crap haha.
I’m always playing catch up with Andy Bruce (Andy74b) and his utterly stunning collection of cars.
I’ll get there one day.
The game plan is to get to 100 of the worlds best cars then open up a bit of a museum, charge a small admission and then donate that money to a very worthy cause.

Doff my cap to you for your great work, giving some joy to someone who really needed it.
As for the LFA, I reckon a Nurburgring Edition is what you need as the perfect stablemate for your current one. They seem to be seriously underrated.

Hi Pete,
I have nothing but respectful jealousy for having all those cars!
And I think you're right on Autism making it relatively easy to switch between cars. I also have high functioning Autism and I find things become muscle memory very quickly and I can easily switch between them be it cars, motorbikes or more often different games consoles and their controllers!
Couldn’t agree more with this, it’s just second nature. I have nothing but respectful jealousy for having all those cars!

Ask me to put together ikea furniture and I’ll freak out as it doesn’t make sense to me.
The wife puts all things like that together.
I can ride a motorbike to the garage, jump in any car, drive it to the farm, jump on my tractor and it’s all done without thinking.

My wife and daughter are my everything so it was taking up too much time every weekend.
Whenever I said I was busy I’d get a bunch of crap off lots of entitled kids that thought I didn’t have a family to spend my weekends with.
Yeah I’m just not a Lamborghini fan, well apart from my tractor haha
