He's right though. My wife and her mother are both in accordance that it cannot be done.

Bugger. I better trust them and give up everything. Including life.

Are we talking a "real"(stabilised engine dyno) 1000bhp or a "i got a 1000 brake number on my chassis rolls print out" 1000 bhp? Big difference!
800 to the wheels should be about right Max. As measured at SRR. If you pay to take the engine out and get it tested, jobsagoodun wink
Why don't you just pluck a four-figure number out of the air now? It'd save you a lot of money and be just as credible.

Alternatively, sit down and do the calcs on VE, compressor power, gross power requirements, BSAC, BMEP, Pmax etc and convince the engineers amongst us that you know how engines work, rather than just throwing money at the problem and magicking a dubious number at the very end of the process.

Okay, will do. Gimme some time to work the numbers. This is just my pie in the sky goal that I hop to beat. I am constantly learning and adjusting. I am just gonna prove some aholes wrong wink

stroking it is not the way to go, you wont need the extra capacity or the issues associated. Heads, cam, springs these are your starting points you can calculate to work with the velocity of air.

if you want a great read on why stroking is only for the bathroom and kays catalogue, I'll have a look for a great article by Jason from Katech but finding it ahrd to locate at the minute. You gain CC but lose RPM and efficiency, you might be better to keep it as is and do the heads etc or reduce the crank and increase the RPM. After all, Chevvy were known to do that on some race applications. Actually its a bit misleading it can be seen as a way to enable you to chase the higher power but more reliably.

https://www.physicsforums.com/threads/increase-rpm... - read, its interesting. You can calculate the current max theoretical power of the engine in NA form then use the formula based on the boost available.

For me NA theoretical is 814 or there abouts but it wouldn't be drivable and not for long.

There have been many that have chased the stroker route and ended up with diesel like characteristics. Speak to Roger, he made power but in a limited fashion and whilst delivered like a diesel.

Cubes, good solid block, suitable blower, supporting mods for airflow and heat management etc and off you go.
Just dont forget your wallet. Its not hard, just expensive smile

The drivetrain in the GTS should handle it ok.

Good on you and hope you do achieve your target. I'm no expert on your car or any other for that matter but of course it can be done. I very much doubt you are the first.

Why do people feel the need to chime in saying you can't/won't do it. You have to go to MIRA to get it tested or its lies. Your car will explode and children in Botswana will feel the aftershock at the first sign of full throttle. A load of tosh.

Crack on and have fun doing it. A massive smokey burnout video is an absolute must though otherwise it definitely is all lies. hehe

Of course you can do it if you have the money. It has been done before, many times. Why would you want that much hp with rwd it will be unusable on anything but a straight line.

VXR8 GTS to a daily useable 1000bhp using supercharging rather than twin turboing.
A daily useable 1000bhp? scratchchin And you're going to do all this without taking the engine out?

These kind of jobs are better done first then written about after to save any possibility of egg on face situations.....

I'm sure it will need to come out at some point.

And I won't be embarrassed it doesn't happen, this is just me setting my goals.

This is brilliant, love to see a genuine bonkers idea taken to reality.

Chase the dream! It may go bang, it may go like the fking clappers and live for a long old time, but it will be awesome fun.

You only live once. Enjoy it!
