Hi Pete

Are the old plans for a 2manycars show somewhere still on the cards before the collection is split up all over the shop? I assume you're at least taking the bikes with you as they aren't RHD rofl

I’m still hoping to do that to be honest. And yes I’ll definitely be taking the bikes with me haha

Are you ok? And I mean that genuinely.
Please show me anywhere I’ve held up Dubai as a model of excellence and fairness! I haven’t, because it’s not.
They ship people in to do the stty work, to clean the streets, to drive the taxi’s, to do the care work and all the other things that the locals are too precious to do, and after all that they still won’t be treated as anything but an immigrant……….oh wait, am I talking about the Windrush generation here!!!!!
Obviously you’re just bitter about something, obviously you just don’t like what I’m saying. And that’s cool. What I said wasn’t a rant though, it was purely factual. I’m not picking out certain things and trying to change the narrative like you are.

And yes, I’m very happy to take my daughters to Dubai. Do you know what the average childhood in the U.K. is now. And I say average so don’t start twisting my words and changing the narrative.
Most children come home from school and jump straight on their iPads or phones, most want to play with their friends online instead of play in the woods or a field.
I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a group of children on their bikes just going for a ride. Why? because parents are so scared of what might happen to them.
So yeah I’d rather take my girls to a place where they can play out on the beach with their friends and not have them sat in the house on their devices.
Will I live forever in Dubai? No.
Will I come back to the U.K.? I doubt it.
Should any of this bother you? Not at all.
I'm absolutely fine. Amused in fact.

Here's your words (direct quotes, no 'twisting'):

"So I'm off to Dubai where businesses can grow and everyone pays their own way and fair share."

Both those statements are bks. Your business (and many others) have and are successfully growing in the UK. People do not 'pay their own way and fair share' in Dubai - indeed it's far worse than here in that regard (but not for ultra high net worth chaps like yourself, so hey, you're alright Jack).

"Maybe have a think about the real reason why I'm moving, which is to go somewhere where things are a lot more equal than over here."

Again, complete nonsense. It's far more unequal in fact, with the Emirati and rich westerners having a completely different (enshrined in law) position to the indentured workers and underclass.

Yes, I know what the average childhood is like now. Because I have average kids in the UK. I'm not afraid for them to go out playing in the local woods/fields/beach - they choose not to in the main because of the appeal of the screen and online sociability. By your own words "most want to play with their friends online instead of play in the woods or field".

None of this "bothers me". As said, it amuses me how you're trying to use bullst justifications for ignoring everything other than a move to make you even richer. Especially when your children are female.

Ahhhh st man, so sorry to hear about your mother. You definitely did the right thing coming back though, that’ll mean the world to her.
Would you go back to Oregon or look at somewhere else?
Thanks Pete, yeah you only get one mum!

tbh we'd go back to the same place as we've built a life and friendships over there now that we'll really miss. I'm doing the same job, just from a different office now so it'll be pretty easy.

Honestly you could give an aspirin a headache.
Ok so let’s go over this one last time shall we.
Again I never said anything about it being a fair country or making it out like it’s a place of integrity, because there are no places like that. As long as there are people in this world with power, they will do whatever they can to maintain it. That’s in every country in the world. So calm down Jack.

Yes businesses can grow in Dubai much better than over here as they aren’t being taxed to within an inch of their lives. I’ll employ more people being over there than I ever would over here, thus creating more jobs. People do pay their fair share over there, you want medical help, you pay the doctors and the hospitals, you want to use any of their devices, you pay. Nothing is free, so yeah……everyone pays their fair share. How hard is that to understand.

How is living over there going to make me any richer when I’ll be spending more money on employing more people that will be living and working over here? The only difference is that I personally won’t be paying U.K. tax, however this will be far outweighed by the fact that I’ll be spending more on wages and infrastructures on my business over here.

So no matter what problem you have with me moving over there just keep it to yourself, you’re just starting to sound weird and bitter. A guy you don’t know is moving to a country you don’t like, so either stay on here for the car updates or leave so we can all get back to the important things like what was it like to drive the Singer and is there any other reasons I’m selling it? You know, the important stuff!

So what was it like and why are you selling it? Did the colour clash with your eyes?tongue out

Re move don't blame you, it really does feel like the government wants to squeeze the last drop out of anyone working for themselves or employed. The only trickling down seems to be coming out of the water companies into the rivers.

We've had similar discussions but family ties/ need currently too strong for the next few years at least, only you know what is right for you and your family at this point in time- good luck with the move,

I'll absolutely go back. Mum sadly only has 6 months to live, dad will battle on but I honestly can't see him being around for much more than a few years sadly. So yeah will definitely go back.

The US is such a vast place, you just need to find the pockets of awesome. I was in Bend, Oregon and honestly it was just like the UK but with nicer people.
Sorry to hear about your Mum. Hearing stuff like that just reminds me I need to spend more time with my aging parents whilst they're around.

Have you ever played Days Gone?!

Thank you smile

What was it like? Ermmmmmm, well let’s say that just because you can buy the best ingredients and throw them in a pan, doesn’t make you the worlds best dish.
Would I ever buy another Singer? Absolutely not.

Yeah that’s how it feels to a lot of my friends and clients who are running businesses, they are really worried about their future and actually I’ve lost 6 friends in the past 5 months to different countries. They are all off to pastures new. Fresh start and all that. Hope you do what’s right for you and if you stay then I hope the country eases a bit and if you move then I hope it all goes well for you.

Ermmmmm hahaha. No, definitely not that. You know some cars are Monday cars and some are Friday cars. Mine was definitely a Friday car.

Ah Pete, scrap this idea about Dubai and just move to Ireland. Admittedly it’s like England but with worse politicians and healthcare, plus more rain, but at least we have better Guinness! smile

Plus if you head down West Cork way they’ll love you with that Manta

Northern sweatshop call centre boss with 200 Lambos flees country to hole up in Dubai. Is anyone surprised?

Wouldn't normally post something like that, but Watt.co.uk are among the energy vultures sending me bullstty emails on a daily basis. No doubt the business will continue to operate in the UK even from his tax haven abroad.

Just go direct to utility companies everyone, if someone calls you or emails you and you haven't asked them to, you're gonna get pressured.

Edited for fairness. I'm a bit fed up of dealing with energy companies.

Just go direct to utility companies everyone, if someone calls you or emails you and you haven't asked them to, you're gonna get scammed.
I doubt very much that we’ve sent you an email and if we have then that’ll simply because your contract is up for renewal as we don’t do marketing emails. So please don’t tar me with your stty brush.
And yeah go direct to the energy companies if you want, no one is stopping you. However what we are doing at Watt is working with the suppliers and renewing as much of their customer base as possible so we can actually get a cheaper price book than what they have internally.
We disclose all our commissions which even if they are built into your price will 9 out of 10 times still be cheaper than what you’ll find yourself ringing round all the utility companies.
And I’ve never owned a single Lamborghini in my life, well apart from a tractor.
So it’s very easy to spew your stupidity online but actually take a moment to do some comparisons on our prices and what you’ll get if you go direct. And if this is how you think and act, maybe you shouldn’t be making these decisions when running a business. However if you want a price that’ll be cheaper than you’ll get direct, feel free to drop me a PM and I’ll do it for you for free.
