Wednesday February 18th.

Another early start.

2:15 hours to deadline.

Latecomers (if any) to this threadette will wonder WTF is going on.

I apologize. No time to explain.

Will simply park the picture below as a reminder that I've had worse days.

Suspenders you say Mr Coopedup? Hmmm.....

While I would love to show you the fruit of another mans lens. I can't just yet.
PH protocol demands I play by the rules and while not a cricketing man myself I shall do the decent thing.

That said I can proffer a quick peek behind the scenes.

There was waaaay too much standing around.
Famous feet in these here parts.

Skinny bloke below saved the day at the literally last moment.
And my directorial bacon. Good guy and he looked the part.
NDA'd for now.

Then a swift transition to outside locales.
Bright but breezy. Freezing in fact.

Hang on. Facing the wrong way.

Still facing the wrong way.

Better.

Local celebrity sadly absent today.

Mr. Walker would have been lost for words.
Mr Tractor driver didn't see us coming. We were only doing 25mph.
Seriously.
Cue close shave jokes.

To be continued..........

Cheers, Whatty.

PS. Almost forgot. Orange incomer inching towards my new shed.

Gaining possession of said shed proving a bit of a grind.

Edited for super sloppy second image insert.

Nurses AND suspenders?
Ask her for a bromide Mr. Coopedup.

Cheers, Whatty.

PS. Patience is a virtue. Possibly your nurse as well.

G'day Mr. C.

I'm off down country back lanes tomorrow to pick up Ms. Whatty's new ride.

Which having now paid for I shall reveal without fanfare or drum roll.

Isuzu Bighorn. 3.1TD

C. 20th Century orig.

The property of a country gentleman.
He has a barnyard and everything.

His pix.

Some many years.
But fewer average miles than one might think.
Little wear to interior.
Electric everything.

Ample Room for Whatty Jr.

Dogs/Pushchairs/Bikes
Trackday paraphernalia/shooting gear
Garden tasks. Deadstock Auction finds etc.

Made in Japan, sold new in New Zealand, moved to UK, now owned by a Yankette.
Its practically a UN Peacekeeping Force in its own right.

Which might prove handy to yrs trly next week,

Cheers Whatty.

PS. Mr.C - does Doris have a sister?
I only ask as I know one or two v. eligible bachelors at present.

'ello M. Jimi

It is indeed a bit minty inside and nicely ding free on the outer flanks.

How I came to find it involves a rather nice chap who used to sell Peugeots to my Great Uncle.
Norfolk = two degrees of separation.

It wasn't actually for sale but a word from the wise was enough to prompt a quick recce and 'Hey Presto' one Jolly Green Giant for my inbound spouse.

The Citroen is a bit dimensionally challenged where as the BIGHORN is a better ride height bet for her to explore the Norfolk countryside in.
Norwich car parking slots somewhat smaller than she is used to justify the price and age.

I look forward to you brightening my dull day Mr. W, I have always thoroughly enjoyed your posts beer
I'll check on the current post code but I think Doris' should point her sister in the direction of Ye Olde London Town.

Near here in fact.
(Apologies my location photo album is a bit challenged for things south of the A14.)

For the record I don't live anywhere near there.

We're currently just trying to move a bit closer to:

PS. Tell Doris's sister to head for SW7. Half an hour on Mortlake High Street should find her a suitor.

House of Whatty

Easter Sunday 2015.

Dear Whatty Jr.

YESTERDAY was a good day in many respects.
And bad in others.

Still stuck at Old Volks home.

Admittedly the closest I was able to get to doing car stuff was sticking you in the worlds best playpen.
The old Mongrel is still SORN.
Handy that you removed the now redundant tax discs.

Conveniently located so that I can catch up on the car world while keeping an eye on you.
Though the latest from the 'Ring makes for uncomfortable reading.

Bloody hell.

Sobering stuff.
Condolences to those involved.
Although its still on my 'to do' list.

Running, after your latest little automotive adventure, amuses me.

A two year old alone in a car?
With the keys in the ignition?
What ever was I thinking?

Flat battery now added to 'to do' list.
Nice one son.

Wander (ok toddle) across the street.

Quick run up to Norwich.
Look at that vista, A fine city.
Europe's last remaining 6 day a week market.

Book at bedtime.
Sod Enid Blyton.

TODAY: Easter Sunday.

Go to work on an Easter Egg.
Fix 4Mo flattened battery.
Use C4 as power provider.

Simples. Right?
Wrong.

Which Gallic Muppet designed this battery cover?
Manly sized jump lead jaws don't fit in here.

OK - Plan B. Use Suzi the Old Trooper.
Swap cars around.

Despite being a God fearing Agnostic I swear to all that is Holy that I never heard a thing.
France - 1.
Germany - 0

At least it wasn't the side that was just repaired.

Merde et scheize.

If in doubt use the oldest tool available.

Cheers, Whatty.

Edited for real time driveway hamfisted-ness.

After much debate but little marketing the least PH of the Whatty fleet is off to a new home.

In memory of Vero the Citroen C4 manu-matique .

September '14 - 'April '15.
6,500 miles.

She shall not grow old as others grow old.
Trade sources tell me that gearbox might well self destruct at 50k miles.

Bonjour Mr. CoopedUp

Now Citroen C4 free I guess I can now dispense with the annoying 'Hello Hello' French verbage.
There is quite a lot of of hard work going on behind the scenes at present. Whether it is good remains to be seen.

So, what plans are you fermenting for the FoMo now the Gallic slug is going?
Good morning ManOpener
Funny you should ask about the Mongrel. Still debating its fate.
Lots of M.O.T left so I may well start using it again.

In fact I wandered over to the UK MkIV forum with a technical question.
Some helpful answers on the subject of a DIY spring replacement but there then followed some bickering on time and tools.

In the spirit of being a nice car bloke I thanked them and left a small gift.
Haven't heard word since. Ingrates.

Ironic.

Paid for, now awaiting garage to park it in.

You're on the right lines. A trifle more down market but the Chapman Special D.N.A is there.
It won't manage T to B.S.E to your standard but its heart is in the right place.

May 6th.

House of Whatty
Norfolk.

Dear Lady-in-Lowestoft

You don't know me and I doubt very much we will ever meet.
By way of explanation, we're buying the house from the people buying yours.

I understand that you are reluctantly relinquishing your abode as the result of your divorce.
Very sorry that things didn't work out for you and your husband - tricky thing marriage.
Obviously times like these are very emotional. Pretty was she? The 'other woman'?

Not sure what motivated you to agree a price, some months back, vacate the property and then attempt further negotiations?
A chance perhaps to piss your ex off perhaps?

At this late juncture I would ask you to remember the old adage 'money talks - bullst walks'.

Today is the day. Get thee to thy solicitors, sign the contract and bugger off.

Cheers, Whatty.

I leave you with an appropriately PH themed tune.
