Someones knocking..........

Wierd one this - heavy knocking sound coming from rear when going over small bumps, manholes etc which seems to disappear after about 2 or 3 miles.

Its more than likely something to do with expanding pipes or fixings but does tend to sound like my exhaust is hanging off

Sound familiar to anybody!?
