New E10 fuel cant be used in older ferraris
Discussion
I have only just heard about this new fuel they are going to be making us use this year.
I dont really know much about it because they seem to have bought it in stealthy. It seems they are determined to layer by layer get cars of the road.
It's only compatible with certain year cars and looking on the gov website, any ferrari made before 2005 cant use it.
These cars should carry on using E5 fuel which will only be available for another 5 years. Then what? https://www.scotsman.com/lifestyle/cars/government...
I dont know much about this fuel, does anyone have any more information or have looked into this?

USA has been having this discussion a while on Ferrarichat - it is not clear if that information which currently comes from the government website fully represents Ferrari's position - much like for unleaded it will probably take another ten years for the factory to advise - the E5 will continue in super unleaded anyway so for most it will be less of an issue for pre-2005 Ferraris (which tend to prefer super unleaded) if 95 octane with E10 avoided
This is concerning, but as pointed out above, and also confirmed on the Gov website "super" 98+ unleaded will still be E5 and I doubt many Ferrari owners are using the cheaper unleaded where there is a choice.
It's worth noting that Esso Supreme+ 99 is ethanol free in most of England, Wales and NI, even though it is labelled as E5 for legal reasons. My local is an Esso so I always use that in my F430, so this is reassuring information.

Although our pumps have E5 labels on them, our Synergy Supreme+ 99 is actually ethanol free (except, due to technical supply reasons, in Devon, Cornwall, North Wales, North England and Scotland). Legislation requires us to place these E5 labels on pumps that dispense unleaded petrol with ‘up to 5% ethanol’, including those that contain no ethanol, which is why we display them on our Synergy Supreme+ 99 pumps.
I once almost ran out of fuel in the hills above Florence, to the extent that I was coasting down hills (at which point I was passed by a Fiat Panda containing four nuns, but that’s another story) when I came across a tiny, unbranded filling station with two pumps, one petrol and the other diesel. No idea what sort of petrol it was but the 458 ran fine on it.
If you were coming down from the Fi-Pi-Li then don't feel dishonoured about being passed by the nuns in the Panda.
I used to run that road a lot back when I was flying into Firenze and working out of Pisa, it absolutely wasn't unusual to see, to use the old phrase, Nuns on the Run!
They would fly past you, the law wouldn't even think of touching them! I used to find it amusing as hell

not in the original one he wasn't. Burt Reynolds and Dom Deluise drove an ambulance. Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin were priests in a 308...
I suppose some one might care that it was not in the original one lol.I commented because I thought he was getting confused with these nuns....
