Would these LED's fit a Tamora for brake lights?
Discussion
It is a shame they're no longer around. I think that part of the problem with these SP mods all those years ago was down to Tam owners not wanting to change what was then a new/nearly new car that was still in production.
Today however, I am sure they'd make a (relative) killing, as the mods were all pretty tasteful.
ETA - I am sure that a lot of these cars are better fettled and more sorted now, compared to 10 years ago. A lot I see look better than brand new!

Thanks to Shep1001, I now have my shopping basket almost full for the rear lights. Just want to double check before ordering, is this correct for the reverse light?
http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/product/ultrabright-inner-l...
ETA - Have ordered them all anyway - apart from the orange front indicators, as I'm not even gonna try to get in there! (ordered the clear with orange light for the rear)
Ordered all necessary tools from Amazon too - wire strippers, crimping tool, and connectors (and heat shrink sleeving, not sure if I need that though...)- hope I have it all covered.....
All I need now is Shep1001 to come and help! lol (kidding..)

Yes, that's the correct light. If you get stuck you can give me a call and I can talk you through it. My lights arrived today but I am not back in the U.K. till Wednesday - booooo!
A dremmel is us full too to remove all the old bonding material so the lights fit properly.. Also don't forget the relay or the resistors to correct the flash rate
Cheers Andy. I'm OK with my Dremel, so that won't be a problem. I actually purchased the resistors together with the indicator LED's, I assume they're the correct ones?A dremmel is us full too to remove all the old bonding material so the lights fit properly.. My LED's arrived today!
Very apprehensive about installing them, now that I have them....I am hopeless!
One more thing, I was going to get Central TVR to change the headlights to HIDs, but would these be a better long-term solution?:

I faked up a picture of a Sag with those style lights installed and they looked very good as it was
something I was considering a while back when looking at redesigning the Sag light cluster.
Which light you referring to Alex?something I was considering a while back when looking at redesigning the Sag light cluster.
I can't remember where I got the link for the lights I linked to, am sure it was off this forum (otherwise I wouldn't have thought about them...)
I just didn't want to spend £450 and then realise afterwards that they don't fit...

So, do I save myself a packet and stick to the HID's, then...
Why not try the HID's and put the money you 'save' to one side. If they don't meet your expectation either aesthetically or functionally its only cost £40. If they do, happy days and you have £400+ say towards an ACT air box?For me personally, those headlights don't do anything but it all comes down to personal choice, some say the ACT air box is a waste of £1000 but for me I think its the dogs danglies

Chris, IMHO you really ought to use proper crimps rather than those blue snap connectors.....they are not good.
So would these be a better option?http://www.amazon.co.uk/Way-Gel-Filled-Connector-C...
(I guess I could also solder the wire and heat shrink wrap them)?

I have saved myself over £250, and will go for the HID upgrades at Central TVR (they're gonna have my car for a long time with the list I'm giving them....)Edited by chris watton on Thursday 27th February 21:09

I would quite like to go clear lens LED with all my rears lamps and front indicators. So that is 4x indicators, 4x rear light/brake lights, 1x Fog, 1x reverse = well over £300!!! seems a bit excessive to me.
But I have ordered them anyway![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

ETA - Damn, just realised I'm 2 rear lights short! Are the upper red lights the same as the lower ones?

There is no need for the lower tail lights as the new ones are combined tail/brake lights ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
You just have to connect the blue lead with the lower tail lead.
Paul, does your "cut off" in the original relay work with both LED and normal lamps together ?
I have just ordered another set of red tail/brake lights (as well as clear indicators for the front..) - so can both sets be wired up for both tail/brake lights?![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Yes. White lead is ground, blue is tail and red is brake light.
I always wanted to modify the original brake lights to have combined brake and tail lights with a 5/21 watt lamp, but never did it. Now it's an easy job with the new LED ones.

I think SVC have made a killing with these lights over the past few weeks..

Shep & Chris,
What are you doing with the old fittings? Would you be willing to sell the reverse and fog units?
Cheers.
ETA - The request is made to all doing this conversion not just Shep & Chris. Having re-read the thread I noted that more are doing this.
I will be keeping mine - anything coming off the Tam that is original, I want to hold on to, lights, steering wheel, exhaust etc. - just in case..What are you doing with the old fittings? Would you be willing to sell the reverse and fog units?
Cheers.

If they are, cheers.
Yes, they are very cheap - even Racing Green has the standard reverse lamp for just a few ££'s, and we all know the mark ups they load on for TVR parts...I am keeping my old stuff because I intend to keep the car a very long time - and who knows, in 10/20 year's time, those standard cheap lights may not be as abundant as they are right now.
