Brooklands/Trinity Engineering meet
Discussion
Thinking about the speed limits and "Incidence Ahead" signs coming up, that may have been my fault. Was sat in the outside lane trying to get people to undertake as I had Shmee in the passenger seat trying to video you lot. Only got a couple of cars to go past and the speed limit signs flashed up
It was either that or Yeti and Burnouts exhausts setting off some sort of decibel reading!

Tim, the trip to your place sound brilliant, exactly what I originally conceived this meeting as with Burntout! Bacon butties on a Saturday morning sound great, maybe even Jockman would make the trip down for one..?
How did you know I was salivating at that point ?? Have I perchance become so predictable ?? Organising a 470 mile trip in 7 days is always going to be a tall order. At least with Hever, Karen and I can make a weekend of it (she is uber-excited by Anne Boleyn's childhood house - was she ever NOT a child?).
Ironically, we shall be with friends in Tadworth in the next couple of weeks !!
Quelle Dommage, as I have been saving a delicious little red number for you le Yeti. It'll keep

What about doing this again at Gaydon? I've been in touch with the folks there and I'm pretty sure that AML would be happy to provide a factory tour and a coffee - bit like the V12V day last year which was annoyingly about two weeks before I bought mine.
Good idea John, though I fear they have limits on numbers on tours ??? Could always ask I suppose as it really is great fun.BTW Yeti, do you really think Milton Keynes is in the Midlands

Ah, well, I was first past you, so it was my fault!!!It was either that or Yeti and Burnouts exhausts setting off some sort of decibel reading!
I think that they watch the CCTV and simply spotted a lot of heavy metal and switched on the 40mph signs.

... Hard to get a decent run on any roads with that number of people unless it's a bit more organised and we have groups of 5 with leaders...
Based on my limited experience in these events Yeti, if you are going for a razz then you need at least a 'normal' group and a 'high speed' group. I am quite happy going at 140 mph on selected parts of a motorway but if you think I'm taking blind bends at approaching 100 mph like mikeyk and Quinny do then you're off your rocker But you are right with anything over 5 or so I used to split the groups with the S2000 lot.
Looks like a great day shame it was so far away
Yeti, many thanks for organising a great day out - it was fantastic fun and good to meet some fellow enthusiasts.
Your exhaust takes the tunnel to a new level! When you blasted off, I thought that I must have turned my engine off due to the screaming roar that comes out of your car.
I bunked off after the first run and headed home on a domestic mission. Did you go on after the golf club?

Unfortunately I am having trouble uploading the audio of the Tunnel run. MAy have to resort to Youtube. What I can tell you is that it is 1min 50sec of pure v8/v12 orchestral delight with a fare mix of giggles over the top.
So, the tunnel is 1.2m and it took us 1m 50s with a 40 average limit. We should be ok , apart from when i exited northbound through the cameras going north a little over the average , I await the postman.

A couple of snaps I took earlier, the Merlot V8S Roadster was particularly stunning with the cream interior, really shows off the detail stitching - overall a great collection of cars and everyone I chatted to was incredibly friendly, exactly what I was hoping for from the AM experience! Maybe name badges next time would make the intro's easier? Looking forward to the next event.
