Well as a positive response to my out pouring and request for unity in friendship on the "Dawg from Kent" thread I thought I would enquire to all
whether or not my eventing and meeting idea's are to your liking and in view of the recent down trend are indeed wanted.

Clearly the Burghley House meeting is steadily attracting some good support, support which I hope will rally and pick up pace as the date draws nearer
and I start to rev it up on all fronts come the NewYear.

The WS and McGurk visits look positive and have been well subscibed too,so thanks for the interest on those it makes it worthwhile.

As some might know I'm currently retired or how I prefer to see it "taking a sabbatical away from the fields of conflict",Obviously I do lots of things other
than hang round hear but I do like to try and balance out life by trying to do well by others,by others I don't just mean the less fortunate in life I mean
you my fellow AM and PH enthusiasts that run your hectic schedules, stressful businesses and work hard in long and time consuming positions.

With this in mind I put together the 3 previously mentioned sampler events to try and gauge the interest, want or need for such things within the forum,
from my side they appear to have been well received so as a positive step forward in getting this the best of forums back on line with us all singing from the
same hymn sheet I thought I would ask to poll your general opinions on such events and indeed what else would you like to see put in place for the collective to
enjoy.

I'm certainly not in any way trying to take over the forum or step on the toes of others that have organised so much in the past and as I'm sure will do so again
in the future.I'm just offering some of my time hopefully for the enjoyment of others who spend their lives juggling time and dodging stress.

On this point thanks go to Tony,Simon,Molly,Jeff,Laura for the runs, events and fun bits they have put together, not forgetting the efforts of Phil (Mako) for the work
that has gone into his V12 Register and doubtless to those I have forgotten to mention or those before my time,if I missed you sorry it was unintentional.

Oops and I nearly forgot the Boys down the Dog and Duck.......thumbup

Well do we have any thoughts, any idea's or if you fancy it just tell me to shut up............its a poll looking for idea's and a way forward for the social enjoyment
of this Forum and the Aston Martin's we are lucky to own,so come on lets have an over view of things we could do in 2014 and beyond.

I'm happy to do my bit as long as I can be known as the Fat Controller and give out Cakes to the Cake disciples among us,and as long as the UN doesn't head hunt
me for another Peace Keeping Mission in some fly infested far flung sh*t hole of an outpost.................. I'm up for it.

We've got Hever in June.................or as it could be known Bears in the Park

We've got Burghley in July..............or as it could be known Cakes in the Country.

So what else do you fancy if you indeed fancy anything at all.

Over to you...................thumbup

Ed50, I'm now ashamed as I took the rise out of you and didn't realise you were a coffin dodger. You carry on organising things with what little is left of your life.

Seriously, carry on that man. I think we all wish you well even if you vaguely whiff of wee!
Griff,

Focus on the word sabbatical and not on retired, don't mention coffins unless you are calling the Blue One,but do by all means keep taking the piss..........
as that is all good clean healthy banter.

Sorry about the whiff though, I have tried Lilac Water to no avail as many use it here in the home..........I'm currently testing my own ED50 branded product
to help eradicate the problem in the elderly forum user,

Its called "Piss be Gone" and is probably available from a Chemist near you, please support my work and go in and ask for a bottle.......thumbup

I think you are doing a great job taking your time to organize events for us to attend.
Like steveatash I am also challenged ,albeit not geographically but mentally.
Geographically I live in the correct part of the U.K. i.e. London.
I would have joined your other events but I work a 6 day week and so Saturdays are not on for me ( possibly make an exception if you chucked in a couple of floozies ).
So more Sunday events for me please and keep up the good work.
There's a positive, how do Sunday events work for other people.................

I'm flexible (that'll be the Sanatogen and Bob Martin's doing there trick then).

Hi Ed,
frequent reader, rare poster here. Thanks for your efforts putting together these meets. I suspect like most here that I get just a few hours a week to myself and really appreciate that you have put yourself out to arrange the morning at John McGurk's place.

I may scan the forum on the phone a couple of times a day and will often frown, or smile at the changing cast of characters, but I enjoy the banter, never feeling the need to join in myself. It has been a good read and technically helpful over the past five years and generally good humoured....Lately, not so much.

It's good that you've tried to arrest this and it's people like yourself, Tony Hall of Hever fame and the lads who get together at the D&D, who make the forum work in the real world, that do make coming back here worthwhile. I understand you think you may be taking a few knocks at the moment, but there are a few of us out here who are grateful for all your efforts. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Mark,

My reaction was to calm for the good of all and in no way a reflection based on anything that's effected me,I restrain from entering into arguments in general but I certainly steer
clear of topic's that I have no technical knowledge in or those of a volatile nature.

It would be easy to jump on every bandwagon but I think to myself "now are you qualified to comment" that answer is usually no so I just read others comment and retort.

Evidently of late many topic's have, shall we say got feisty and in some even personal, these I choose to leave alone as none of my business.I've been surprised by the amount
of e-mails and calls I've received since by attempt at calm on my morning post on Sunday, its surprising how many people have been affected and concerned of late.

I'm not trying to tell people what to do or how to conduct themselves I was just putting out my feelings as I saw them at that point in time,if something good comes of it then
great, but if I have irritated some I'm sorry but every one has the right to reply if they don't like what I thought.

Some may feel what's it got to do with him, others may concur......but a lot seemed glad some one dare to put their head in the mouth of the Lion.

This is only a forum and these are only my thoughts, you can't please everyone all the time but from my perspective I prefer to laugh than cry.

You'll always.... as with any Circus have a changing cast of characters but one things for sure the show must go on.

Maybe I'm just a Clown without a Circus......
