Angel eyes coversion for E39, prices?

Back to the original question - has anyone replaced pre-facelift Xenons with angel eye Xenons? Is it as straightforward as replacing the normal lights?

I would buy a car if I could find one with everything on already. I'm not buying a 530 as I can't afford a decent one (£5k+ for a good condition model) I'm going to be selling it in 2 or 3 years, so by that time an 11 or 12 year old car would only be worth £2000 probably.
