marshy's 500 is a pussycat in town but mine feels like it wants to get the hell out of it and is an irritable b*****d some times and just mildly annoying others......the things vary a hell of a lot and I will get MA to wave his wand over mine eventually

Mine's a 400, and - well, lets face it, it ain't THAT fast. I mean - the thing has 4 litres and no weight. It should suck your brains through your ears.

But stop. Hold on. It does have tremendous torque, so it FEELS fast. It also drives like nothing else on the right roads (sweeping, well surfaced, country lanes - same sort of thing bikers like). It's a package you're buying, not just an engine.

Oh sod it. Look I could barely afford a 4 litre - the 500 will have to remain up there with the Miura for a while. The wife insists on being fed.
