Hi all,

I wanted to chip in here. I recently bought a very similar car to the OP.
2010 S5 V8 black with cream and auto. LOVE it, and echo the comments about deceptively vast speed and a childish desire for a more noise.

I wanted to ask 'experienced' owners about the A/C. Mine seems crap at keeping the windows demisted. It blows cold, perhaps not 'ice cold' as per every advert ever, but it is working; except leaving it in auto A/C mode the windscreen fogs.

They all do that sir, or get it checked/fixed? Re-gas would be the first place to start I assume.

Thx.

Google G395 sensor - seems common fault on these, and happened to me. Can’t remember my symptoms before though !!

You almost make a V8 sound sensible! biggrin

What has replaced it?
I've bought a 2017 Porsche Cayenne Turbo! It feels very Audi!!! Rapid car to say the least.

I'm not sure how to react to that smile

So my decision process was as follows:

GTR - No leg room for the kids
RS6 - Injector/Brakes/Alloys issues which Audi take no ownership of so not my idea of a solid car
M6 - Lovely car but none available in the spec and price I'm after
S63AMG - Lovely car and one I might go back to at a later date when kids are older and dont need me frown

The KN Turbo fits the family needs really well. It is big enough without being too big. It is also very luxurious and fully kitted with all the sports stuff I will ever need. The performance is jaw dropping. Also the best bit is it doesn't shout about it. The exterior is discrete... well as much as it can be for a SUV.

1.5 years into the ownership experience. The car has been great. There were a few issues however all covered under warranty.

So far it has cost me £1200 in service costs, £120 for a 111 inspection for the 2 year warranty which was £1800. Insurance is approximately £950. I'm hoping it will be trouble free for the next 2 years!

I've had new tyres replaced on all 4 corners which totalled to £850. Brakes and pads from Porsche at £2100. A new windscreen at £700. Wheel alignment from Porsche at £400. These cost didn't come out of my pocket so it's all good.

Under warranty I've had the sunroof cleaned and adjusted, a new rear window switch and also an oil leak fixed. The oil leak was a big job. It took Porsche approximately 30 hours to fix.
