British Motor Museum Sunday Service 29/01

Join us at the spiritual home of the British car industry for our first Sunday Service of 2023

Next year marks the 25th anniversary of PistonHeads, so what better way to make our mark on automotive history than by attempting to sneak a smiley into the British Motor Museum?

We’ve already got a packed calendar of events planned for 2023, and we can’t wait to kick off with you all at an iconic venue in the Midlands.

On top of the free parking for 600 cars we've secured outside, there are more than 400 cars from 1896 to modern-day supercars inside to explore. You’ll be able to learn about the people behind them, where they were made, and the birth, decline and rebirth of the British car industry.

Please note that while parking is free, entry to the museum is at a discounted rate of £10 per person (usually £16 – under 5s go free). Hot and cold food and drink will be available in the museum café, once you’ve paid your entry fee on the day.

If you fancy joining us for our first Sunday Service of 2023, then add your name to the list here.

See you there!

When: Sunday January 29, 0900h-1200h
Where: Banbury Road Gaydon, Lighthorne Heath, Warwick CV35 0BJ
Cost: Free parking, £10 discounted entry to museum on the day
Spaces: 700
Tickets: Book your place here

Cracking place, especially all the strange cars that never went into production, on first floor of the second building

Yup fantastic place full of weird things I never knew about... Road Rover - ugly as sin SUV prototype based on a Land Rover, Issigonis designed straight 6 1275cc Metro and loads of other stuff including 2 D-type Jags. Lovely

We paid a visit and enjoyed it more than we thought we would.
Lots of interesting little things to read.

Loved seeing the Darien gap Range Rover, the 1275 gt mini that had been stashed away for years and the terrible fitment of the rear doors on the prototype SD1 Rover estate. Plus many more.

My wife asked why there were no Capris, it took a while to explain but I think we got there in the end.

Hi there,

Just signed up for this, and looking forward to it.

I have been to the British Motor Museum a few times and keep a rolling gallery from this and the Jaguar Heritage Centre on my site.

For anyone not sure what you could see please take a look :-

I’m hoping to give my new Caterham 420r a blast oop norf but don’t fancy it if the roads are still really salty. I’ll have to take the family battle bus if it’s grim. Can’t wait though. My first Sunday service. I’m interested to see what a PHer looks like in the flesh!

Signed up. Never been before. Will bring kids along.

Are there any decent pubs about to stop on the way back down to London for some lunch?

I've just sent the email out to everyone with the pass for Sunday. Please follow the link to pre-book your museum tickets to prevent massive queues on the day.

If you can no longer make it, please remove your name from the list by following the link at the bottom of the page here. Otherwise, see you there!
