Assist Menu Item - for GTS models, but not Spyders?

I don't think I imagined this.....I was in my Spyder today, intending to check a setting, and just after inserting the key, to activate the PCM screen, momentarily I saw a menu item appear (and almost immediately disappear) at the bottom of the main PCM screen.

My finger was close enough to the screen to trigger the proximity sensor, and the text "Assist" appeared briefly in the bottom line of the display, near the centre of the line of normal icons.

Never noticed this before, and could not get it to return after it disappeared, but I wonder if this is actually a menu item in the 718 GTS, for things like "blind spot monitoring" and "active cruise control", neither of which are available in the Spyder?

I wonder if this is a software bug, which manifests itself during the PCM boot-up?

So, the question I have is - if you have a 718 GTS with all the driver assistance stuff, is this accessed via an icon/button in the bottom line of the main PCM display?

Well…..having tried a Boxster GTS at the PEC a few weeks ago, I can confirm that the disappearing “Assist” menu does exist - and persist - exactly where I saw it, momentarily, on my Spyder’s PCM.

So, a weird, but harmless bug….
