Been recommended a MUCAR BT200pro by a mechanic friend but just noticed its tied to one car once set up?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0D2MY7KLC/ref...

Just want/need something to see obvious codes and reset them.

Any suggestions for a couple of minis, bmws, VWs etc etc

Get a £20 compatible dongle, and have a go with Car Scanner pro for a few quid. I’ve got full VCDS for a VW product, and the car scanner does almost all,of it for almost no money.

Exactly. I only bought the dongle to run a small app called VAG DPF, for quick checking of all things sooty. It came with a link to car scanner, and it’s been excellent. Good luck, I hope it serves you well.

I bought a job lot of these once for about 75p per unit and over time gave them away to colleagues and family who needed them. Looks like it costs a bit more now but hardly expensive. I usually advise to use Torque Pro for a small fee although the non-chargeable app used to be able to reset error codes anyway.

I went for one off Amazon that works with Bimmercode and a couple of other apps my son wants as well for his Golf.

I'm using the Car Scanner app which seems to work fine, fun bit is if you have CarPlay the app can run full screen on the move.
