Hi guys,

I've just spent the last few days trying to find suitable strut top mounts for my car. As most are probably aware, cheap rubber ones fail very quickly. And I've even seen some reports of the better rubber ones (like pedders) still failing relatively quickly.

I already have the superpro polyurethane ones on my car and, combined with my pedders super low springs, the ride is rough!! In an effort to try and make it a little softer I wanted to buy some of the superpro hybrid mounts. These are supposed to be soft like rubber but simultaneously more hard wearing. But unfortunately they're discontinued and no one has any stock.

I was resigning myself to go with the pedders rubber ones, but then I found this website: https://polyelast.com.au/products/vr-vf-commodore-...

Polyelast was a brand name used on the superpro hybrid mounts, and so what I think this is, is the supplier of superpros old hybrid mounts deciding to sell them themselves. They're also cheaper than the pedders rubber ones!!! They ship to the UK for about a tenner.

I haven't received them yet so I'll let you know how they are.

Just thought I'd let everyone know because I've seen lots of
threads online (for the gtos and commodores, mainly), lamenting the discontinuation of the hybrid mounts, but not a single mention of these ones.

Pah, strut top mounts are for sissies hehe

Shockworks kit does away with them entirely, strut clamps directly to the tower smile

You get a bit more 'road feel' in a way, enormous crashy impacts sound harsher, but the ride is exceptional. They will valve them to your specification and have 12 clicks of adjustment which covers a nicely broad spectrum. I think if more people actually knew they existed (mine is the only Monaro with them in the country) they'd be a lot more popular.

I must admit having modified my suspension years ago I would now like a more compliant ride especially around town and on the usual crappy B roads.
At the moment it’s basically fine and far from needing replacement however I will look forward to your update and see how you get on.
