I went MXS 5.0 - if your car has an AGM battery (typically stop-start but other premium cars have it too) you need to ensure the charger is compatible. And even if not, it's probably worth future proofing.
The same probably applies to Li-Ion batteries too but *so far* only on some special cars (e.g. BMW F8X) so wasn't worth it for me to consider.

My MXS 5.0 has been looking after my 2006 Z4M's battery since 2014.
I bought the car from BMW in 2011 and I only had to replace the original battery a couple of years ago. Every time it goes in the garage it goes on the charger/conditioner. It now has an AGM battery and there is a setting for that.
I use the plug/socket that allows quick connection onto the battery, very useful.
Very impressed.

I don't think you can use the Li-Ion charger on conventional batteries. The same probably applies to Li-Ion batteries too but *so far* only on some special cars (e.g. BMW F8X) so wasn't worth it for me to consider.

My CTEK CT5 charger for my motorbike and smaller car batteries will do both lead-acid and lithium batteries, you just need to switch modes so that you don't fry them with too much voltage.Gassing Station | Home Mechanics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
