number plates

hi small info required,just changing the plates on my Boxster and wondered whether they have fittings for them at the front to fit them straight on?If not,any recommendation where i can get a good plate holder,current one had a bit broken off it few weeks ago.You guys just screw straight in the plate or drill first?(never done it before-apologies for lack of knowledge here) I believe the rears are just held by double adhesive stickers?Thanks a lot.
