I have a questions regarding the size of hole for air feed on an air box.

I'm assuming, and it is an assumption, that there same theory applies to this feed hole diameter as the theory regarding inlet port diameter. i.e. too large a diameter will kill air speed. I have tried and tested port diameter and have a good compromise currently.

Now turning to my new airbox design, i'm after some advice regarding should I have 1 or 2 air feed holes (1 either side) and what their size should be.

If anyone has any good links or sources of information, or even better practical experience I would be most grateful

cheers

In general the actual air box feed - the bigger the better. All you need to do is make sure enough air can get to the air box.

The inlet port diameter is an issue as your not talking about air flow - your talking about air-with-suspended-fuel flow. If it's too small you strangle the engine. If it's too big the flow slows down and some of the fuel drops out of suspension and forms a pool in the intake (where it's not doing you much good).

I'd say get lots of air TO the air box, then pay lots of attention/rolling road time making sure all intakes get sufficient air and playing with reflecting the intake pulse (basically how near/far the air box wall is from the intake).

No comment on quality or anything else but one I added to my list of ways to abuse the current $/£ exchange rate... http://www.racetep.com/twmab.html
