Sorry to hear what happened, my deepest condolences! It's a shame that people even think in their wildest dreams that driving while drunk is even acceptable.
To me, it's akin to running around with a knife in a crowded room with your eyes closed. It's only a matter of time until that everyday tool becomes a dangerous weapon and harms someone.
You have to be fully responsible for it, and take the *consequences* for your crime!
