It’s all about whether it’s reasonable for you to know. If someone else did it then it’s probably not reasonable. However, you did it and could well slip up on questioning, equally it’s a niche car with dedicated and knowledgeable owners, if you have similarly specialised insurance then they could expect you to know.

The reality is whether you want to risk it or not.
