...Chances of escape afer committing a serious crime:
1 in 10 murderers in London goes free. 3 in 10 armed robbers do so too, Sir Ian Blair notes. Fewer than 1 in 1000 motoring offences goes unpunished. So, if you have to murder or commit an armed robbery, don't speed away and you'll have reasonable odds of living to kill or rob another day.
Is this the ultimate depiction of misplaced priorities or an inevitable result of BLiar's car-hating government and its obsession with targets?

Its also a result of spineless senior management in the police force. Lets face it Brunstrom is not just incompetant he is guilty of manslaughter.

On the money again ng, it's sad to see these people say how disgusting and immoral it all is once they have retired. I remember Brunstrom even admitted they weren't working and then it went all quiet, no doubt it was suggested he shut the f*** up if he wanted to see a pension, they make me puke

Yes, spineless ar$e crawlers who will do anything to "appear" to do the right thing and that includes going for the easy target, that being the respectable motorist who in the main will pay up straight away out of fear.
MilnerR said:Could be actual prosecutions like hedders said, maybe it's from some figures published by the met with Blair's name against them somewhere.
Where did the telegraph letter writer get these figures from? So out of 1000 traffic offences 999 are prosecuted? I don't believe that for a second. I'm mortally against the unfair persecution of the motorist but i think our arguments should be kept in the realms of reality...
