Well yes, I know it's not the nice thing to do - to see a puddle and a pedestrian, think 'em, and drive through regardless. But what I was curious about was whether the law says you must do all you can to prevent a pedestrian getting splashed or just that you shouldn't do it on purpose.

Compare it to holding a door open for someone...
If you notice someone following behind you and slam the door shut in their face, that would be assault? But if you just let the door go as you went through and it hit the person following it wouldn't be assault, you'd just be a ?

I would doubt its a legal issue... But should we be only be using the law to determine what's right and wrong? Surely we all have more common sense than that?
