1994 K series MFRU

My 1994 1.4 Supersport has an intermittent fault on starting. I turn the ignition on, gauges and lights all work but no priming of the fuel pump when I press the starter button. I turn off the ignition and on again, press the starter and the car starts and runs perfectly. It's been suggested that the MFRU needs replacing. Any experience of similar issues on here?

Does it do that every time? Ie start on the second try? Doesn't sound like what a failing relay will do specifically. Can you borrow one to try? There must be spared lying around in the caterham community.

Do you have an alarm? That might be a possibility too?

The fault is intermittent.

The car is fitted with an immobilisor, i have swapped fobs but no difference.

I'll check the relay and let you know what happens.

Relay seems to be the culprit. On order from Redline Components.
