As regards to Fords colour range the pictures are never like the true shade of colour ,my Intense Purple turned out being nearing black when it arrived so your ordered colour colour be better than the pictures . .
I love that colour, recently bought a Bullitt but I was also looking at Mach 1s and that was my colour of choice

If anybody is thinking of buying a new Mustang it would be best to get it resgistered by the end of March as the first year's road tax for that vehicle has just been increased from £2700 to £5400. That is an additional cost of nearly 10 % when one is buying the GT version of the aforementioned car. To shift any new ones remaining for sale after March dealers may have to reduce the price by the additional tax that will then fall due.

Given the “ interesting “ approach to sales by Ford whilst your advice is good I fear I have little chance of influencing my dealer to get my DH here by any particular date !

Yes, Ford US as far as exporting to the UK is concerned is way outside the conventional norms and they almost come across as trying to put you off from buying from them. There are dealers in the UK (Marshalls Cambridge for example) who have DH's coming in late January/early February, though that can of course slip. If it does and my son's car is hit with the additional tax then he will either cancel his order or get the dealership to cover the additional cost. We live in interesting times!

when I ordered my mach 1 back in feb 2022 the list price increased by 5% in may 2022 but when delivered in aug 2022 I only paid the old price , my road tax was due for 1st nov 2024 £600 so I taxed it the day before the budget did I save any money? ,

The vehicle tax goes up in the April following the budget so in your case no. It is only the first year's vehicle tax that has been doubled, the subsequent years tax, as is always the case, will only be increased by inflation from April.

They certainly don't make it easy to spend £70k.
My deposit went in the first week of January this year and I was " offered " a Ford specced car back in July or so which I turned down as not to my spec and was then told I would hear back this quarter.
We await patiently.

If " my " DH ever arrives I'm not even sure what the price of the car will be let alone the tax !
I wonder if the Dealer will end up offering a small discount smile

I didn’t answer, but the dealer rang yesterday, probably still trying to off load their car that’s due in…

£70k is just too expensive IMO.

Ford are under pressure to meet the electric car gov targets so unloading a halo petrol car at a discount could be doubtful but if you have a good dealer it should be possible?.I still can,t get my head around the dealers not accepting customers build spec,s ?

Dealer was happy to accept spec ( which was hardly outrageous - Carbonized Grey , Manual ,Recaros ) but Ford USA clearly had /have other plans for supplying the limited number that have already arrived ie pre specced.
As such difficult to say whether my dealer is one of the good ones or not although I sense in fairness he is.
If I get the good news email I will obviously ask that for my patience I would like a bit off !

Ford have apparently put a hold on all new Mustang deliveries for an urgent recall. There is a potential black instrument cluster failure, basically the digital dash may fail whilst the car is in motion, this I think is for US cars but UK builds in the time slot, expected repair will be 1st Quarter 2025.

Advance Notice, ETA Q1 2025
Affected vehicles: 6192, built between 5/10/24 - 8/20/24

My Mach 1 had a DVLA recall regarding the brake fluid sensor last year, they said it was just a 30 minute check on the phone but when I arrived at the dealer it took 1.5 hrs they reckon it was also software update, wonder if there was more to the recall?

Saw my first 2 Darkhorses in the flesh today, the Ford dealer in Tower Park has 2 in stock (as they’re not selling well!) 1 black, not a great colour for a Mustang IMO, and a Blue Embers, which is interesting with the sun on it, otherwise it’s an odd, wishy-washy shade of blue.

Not over impressed with the looks of the car, however, I really like the interior, the alacantra cloth really lifts the Recaro’s, which look a bit pants in full leather.

My £70k would be spent elsewhere…

Shame it wasn,t the 500bhp car we were lead to believe with the launch details last year if they are slow sellers now what when the £4k showroom tax increase in April my mach 1 was a good deal based on those new prices .

Best to buy a used Mach 1... Or if you are OK with LHD you'll get a very good used Shelby GT350 from the USA for the same money.
I don't think the UK/EU Dark Horse is good enough..
The Shelby does it for me.

I think I’d buy a Chalenger instead.
