Bloodborne PS4!
Discussion
I'm only about an hour in, but this is quite possibly the best game on the PS4 to date for my money.
Initially it's not that amazing graphically, the opening bit doesn't show it off very well. It quickly gets there. The combat mechanics are just gorgeous, so much depth to how you take on enemies, melee etc.
seems it's getting blow job reviews across the board too. I can see why.

It is naffing hard at times, I forgot how much dark souls managed to frustrate and annoy me yet I still loved it. Not many games I can say that about.
The more you play the better it gets though, utterly superb
In what way is it hard? The more you play the better it gets though, utterly superb
I watched a video of a guy playing on youtube and he just seemed to strike the enemies then roll out the way.
Are the controls difficult?

Reviews are hot I'll be picking this up Friday after work.
It's not really my type of game but I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
Have you played any of the Souls games? It's hard in that the game is designed in such a way that you will die. Often. Lots. But you learn from it and progress a little further each time so there is a strong sense of achievement. I suspect from what I've read that Bloodborne is similar. It's not really my type of game but I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

As said, you die a lot. There's bits of it you can breeze through, then you turn a corner and there's certain death. The checkpoint system isn't exactly frequent so you can go 10+ minutes through, screw up and have to do it all over again. Basically, when you mess up or get complacent it punishes you mercilessly until you hate it, but you still love it. It does force you to become better.I watched a video of a guy playing on youtube and he just seemed to strike the enemies then roll out the way.

It's wonderful though. Gorgeous to look at, great to play, better than any of the previous souls games IMO.
How fking hard is this game???
I consider myself a pretty competent gamer, but I'm just getting rinsed by the first enemy you encounter.
Don't think it's really a spoiler (for first fight only) but I'll do it anyway:
I'm starting to wonder whether you're actually supposed to be able to kill the werewolf bare handed. I've come close, but it seems to just hover on zero health and I end up getting caught by a stray slash or whatever. I've died about 8 times already in the hour or so I played last night (admittedly most of this was creating my character ). Am I just stter at games than I thought or am I missing something obvious? Is there a weapon you're supposed to pick up after you've woken up from the table at the start?

Just got it from Sainsbury's using this: http://www.nectar.com/doubleup/index.rnectar
Had no idea about the offer when I went in the shop, but the girl at the till was very helpful and I got it for £28. Used £20 worth of nectar points and paid the £7.99 balance.
