I really wish this game would allow you to apply/remove upgrades in the pre-race menu.

Unsurprisingly some have taken 10 seconds off my time laugh

I've not tried 4wd yet, though, I was unsure with this PI whether 4wd would Rob too much top end and front grip??
I thought the same at first, but AWD allows you to run stock tyres and reasonable power.

With RWD, I found that to be able to avoid wheel-spinning everywhere, upgraded tyres were needed. I think upgraded tyres use more PI than AWD conversion.

Although at first I was determined to stick to RWD, once I converted to AWD I went over 3 secs faster.

Disclaimer: your results may vary
Last night I managed to get global rank 124ish in a rear wheel drive RX7 which i was happy with, but I can see that you and cutters have upped the anti now!

Back to the drawing board

ETA: cutters and CT are untouchable in that MX5. No idea what spec they are running!

Tonight I've very slightly tweaked the Trueno and gone very slightly faster than I did yesterday. This was after trying a few other cars and not getting on with them at all.

If ever there was a car which belies the stat chart numbers, it's the MX5.

Feel like there's going to be a lot of potential in it once you get used to driving it.

Quite funny dropping your own previous ghost completely off the radar sonar

There's a Hot Wheels car pack out. 6 cars for £7.99 or £7.19 with Game Pass Ultimate. I'll wait a while before I decide whether to get it. https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/p/forza-horizon-4-...
FailRace video racing 2 of the 6 cars from the Hot Wheels car pack, as standard and modified.

It's crazy isn't it, lots of other cars that should really do it but they just don't so you jump in the mx5 and you're away!
I even beat von in the trueno which I'll take laugh but then he got the mx5 and took 4 seconds out laugh

Ok what did I do wrong with the MX-5, does it need a certain engine swap or the widebody? I tried it lastnight and it didn't get near my Trueno.

I've shared my tune, if you bring up the real-time telemetry it will give you a lot of info about the settings i used.

Try to drive it with minimal slip/yaw angle.

Edit: I hope you like disgusting 3 spokes hehe

There's more time in the Trueno, but the mx-5 is just silly. It wasn't even a very clean lap.

It's always a little disappointing when there is one car that seems to be the only one, I guess part of the challenge is identifying it and tuning it, but I always like it when there is a lot of variety.

That being said, even with the MX5 I couldn't catch Cutters or CT, very impressive times. So I have some tuning to try out I think.

I really wanted the RX7 to be the car for me, but in 4wd it hasn't got enough power and it's handling PI is too high even if I try and reduce it for power.. the Gen 1 on stats should be good, but it isn't, seems to get left behind the MX5 at higher speeds.

I tried the Mitsubishi GTO, 300 odd horsepower and only 1.4ish tonnes but slow as a dog.

I thought one of the two older RX7s would have been near the top but i was as disappointed as you that they are a bit gutless.
(Could be down to my inept tune on them so might try again)

I found this too, I guess the rotary engine is low on torque even with a bigger turbo. Engine swap seems to be off the cards for the PI (a V8 would be nice). The 90 RX7 in rear wheel drive is not bad, although being nearly two seconds behind your MX5 time shows quite a gulf.

I was also disappointed with the Silvia K, 400bhp, 1.2-1.3 tonnes but just seems gutless.

Thats good to know, makes me feel better laugh

I think now, ill try the shared mx5 tune and the rest will be circuit knowledge as you can lose huge amounts just not holding it flat, that final proper right hander is nowhere near as tight as you think but the bushes can slow you down too.

With the MX5, try and get used to turning in around 3 calendar months before the apex.

The Hoonigan RS200 is likely to be voted up for next weeks backstage. If anyone still wants it hold on to a pass.

That Mx5/tune is mint, took 4 seconds off the Eclipse's time. Left it for dead on the straights, its sketchier under hard braking though!

Wheels look alright if you paint the centres like a classic RR wheel hehe
