Have probably spent longer on this challenge than any other so far this season, really enjoyed tuning my own car too (I normally just use a setup that someone else has kindly uploaded)... However, I was gutted when this happened earlier:

I then managed to set a clean lap of the exact same time
I feel your pain, it's so annoying when you've had a clean and fast run all of that way only to lose it on the very last corner. https://gamerdvr.com/gamer/kitch88/video/138326352

I'm assuming 4wd as you leave me for dead off the line, if you've got 4wd and the V10 I assume you've sacrificed tyres or weight? To get power as you edge away from me on the straights. It's only on the faster corners near the end where I pass you.
I've stuck with rear wheel drive, but it's meant that I can't really drop below the rally tyres otherwise I lose too much time off the line and can't put the power down out of the corners.
Anyway, I've as I've been out all day and it's too late to focus now, I'll not be setting any more times so well done if you pip me to the post (or anyone who wins frankly!).

Ps. Just logged on to check the board, that's a great time Kitch, right on my heels! I had a quick go against your ghost to see if I could guess your set up.

Thank you, was v happy to end up so close to your amazing time (which is even more impressive if you did it with RWD!!)! Took a lot of concentration to get there though, so I'm not even going to attempt to go 2 tenths quicker!I'm assuming 4wd as you leave me for dead off the line, if you've got 4wd and the V10 I assume you've sacrificed tyres or weight? You're spot on about my setup - 8.4L V10, 4WD, max weight reduction, stock tyres (compound & width), with a few other bits n pieces to make it all add up to 872

I just couldn't do it without 4wd, race tyres and full aero.
I'm happy with my time as I did put effort in for once
The thing that helped most after setting up the suspension was gearing, it made a huge difference for me but I just ran out of time, will be the first time this season that I drop out of the points

Same with me, 4wd, race tyres and full aero. I didn't try anything without those. I did try the Mustang and Monaro, didn't get on with them like I did with the Corvette and Viper. How the hell the top cars are 3 seconds faster, I have no idea . I tapped the outside wall just before the line at least once too.I'm happy with my time as I did put effort in for once

I'm actually quite chuffed to be that close to them over quite a long course.
Soul destroying when you fluff that last corner, you can see it coming in slow motion
Season 4
Round 8 of 16
Elmsdon on Sea Sprint (Race), Any Modern Muscle Car, (A)875, (M)872, (MC)870, Any mods, Any Assists
FINAL STANDINGS:
Top above Blue line. 9th to choose next week as shown.
Congratulations to SPEED12 for the win this week, and Kitch88 for running them close.
I spent today (even though it was Father's Day) sanding walls, painting bedrooms and then filling holes caused by the sander. Then I came home and did this instead of trying to scrape a few extra tenths:

Sorry Drabbesttunic, found a tenth yesterday afternoon.
Will be later today before I can get on to pick a challenge for this week, will get on it ASAP. Is someone still maintaining a list of tracks we haven't done?
Nice one I found enough to get into 10th but that took an age so as soon as I'd actually beaten my own time i called it a day Will be later today before I can get on to pick a challenge for this week, will get on it ASAP. Is someone still maintaining a list of tracks we haven't done?

2:23 club was close
I think for what is a fairly long course the whole board is pretty damn close this week, everyone's done well, and it's great to see a number of different cars on the board. We are way off the global leaders this week, I guess those 30 odd pi points can soon add up and make a difference. I couldn't seem to get on with the viper I don't know why, which is why I was really impressed with Cutters' time. It was only after my Saturday morning attempts that I managed to beat that.
I opted for rear wheel drive, partly to make it a little more interesting, but also because I wanted to try and dial out understeer, I can only assume that my vette was just able to maintain slightly higher corner speeds than Kitch's because I was probably a little lighter and had the rally tyres. On the vette making it 4wd instantly wiped out 7-10 PI points I think, whereas on the viper it actually reduced the PI by one point (I think).

Does anyone have good advice as to how to achieve the seasonal speed zone thingy?
Have been trying tens of times in a Hoonigan RS200 with all kinds of tunes, and got at 138.something mph vs the 140 target.
Seems it is quite a bit harder than the last ones!
I used the mosler for it. Smash through the wall on the bridge instead of braking for it and keep it nailed, should net the target easily that way. Have been trying tens of times in a Hoonigan RS200 with all kinds of tunes, and got at 138.something mph vs the 140 target.

Well done speed, and Kitch, great times both of you. I couldn't seem to get on with the viper I don't know why, which is why I was really impressed with Cutters' time. It was only after my Saturday morning attempts that I managed to beat that.

I stuck with the viper even tho the vette murdered it on the straights. For the pi, with the race tyres, you just couldn’t get much power out of it, with the rear aero only (couldn’t afford the front or any suspension), full weight and 4wd I think I ‘only’ managed to get it to about 67/675hp, you just pulled past me on the first straight and that was that, could catch you in the corners but you’d pull away on any bit of straight.
I’m away this week as well so probably won’t be able to get on at all

This is to the best of my knowledge. Will be later today before I can get on to pick a challenge for this week, will get on it ASAP. Is someone still maintaining a list of tracks we haven't done?
The other road race not used are:
Colossus.
Horizon sprint.
Waterhead (think that got used on S1 876)
Dirt:
Cotswolds road rally.
Derwent reservoir trail (may have been used recently).
Lakehurst forest trail.
Moorhead rally trail.
Whitehorse.
CC and traffic ramming.
All pretty much available.
