Even now you will put a disk in the machine and it will still go off on the web and download a trillion GB of data anyway. Really annoying on Xmas morning when you hand you son the game and you fancy a quick little test yourself and it says 9 hours of updates... Back in my day, you put a game in and played it!
The giant download went through for me last weekend so hopefully when i get home tonight it should be good to go from the off. All the feedback I've seen so far from those who've played the launch version of the game seems positive, with a number of the issues raised by the community during the Beta resolved. Looking forward to it!

Pop the disc in, about 40Gb download. Launch the game, then it’s another 68 Gb update Back in my day, you put a game in and played it!
I wonder if there’s anything actually on the disc...ETA booted game after this lot, then there was another 12.5 Gb....

Went out at 6 30am to pick up my copy. Install it while I'm at work I thought. Got in around 2pm to find there's another 56gb of update to install!! Bear in mind I get around 12mb download speed 
Set it away, went and did some jobs,checked an hour or so later, only 6 gb downloaded. Went away for another 3 hours, install has failed and needs to start again!!
FFS!! Why can they send out any downloads prior to the game release?! Pisses me right off

I played for 30 minutes today.
Really impressed initially.

Bought it yesterday after work, as soon as I got in I fired up the X-Box, which hadn't been on for a while so needed to do an X-Box update which took 45 minutes.
Whacked the game in at just about 19:30, I gave up at 23:45 and went to bed; having yet to play it.
I'm working today and out tonight!!
