Snowrunner released today

I find the obvious upgrades are the best - tyres and diff are the top two followed closely by AWD (my Pacific's seem fine with just RWD). You can also sell truck upgrades so if you find you're really low on cash or you're getting rid of a truck set it back to stock will get you alittle bit of extra money.
Some trucks you also gel with despite their shortcomings and you find you do better with them so do give them all a good go - my favourite scout is the Ford F pickup, but it can't pull scout trailers, it's long so can get beached and the suspension has the same durability as cheese but for exploring it's just my favourite over other ones that usually get ranked higher (e.g. can't stand the Hummer or the russian tank thing)

The price of the truck you sell includes the price of the upgrades, so you don't need to worry about setting it back to standard.Anyone still playing this? I'm just about to 100% all maps although the phase 4 drops tonight/tomorrow for season pass holders which gives another 4 maps to explore so still got quite a few hours left in this one yet.
Found it to be quite a good stress reliever at the end of the day; stick on a podcast and grind away for a few hours; that said, nothing more annoying than getting 99% of your task done then tipping over the truck!

I've recently bought this for PS5 (Bought and played a lot of it on PC back when it launched). Using all the "lessons learnt" from playing it on PC to do things better/easier on PS.Found it to be quite a good stress reliever at the end of the day; stick on a podcast and grind away for a few hours; that said, nothing more annoying than getting 99% of your task done then tipping over the truck!
Kinda lost interest on PC when I got to Russia. Trucks just didn't do it for me.

Yeah still going through it, got annoyed with Wisconsin and those stupid power trailers but apart from Yukon I've 100% done all the other maps. Still quite fun but sometimes I wish I could go just a little faster
Yeah that took a bit of getting used to; at least it wasn’t anywhere as annoying as Imandra with all that deep snow and truck-grounding rocks! Was glad to see the back of that map although I still have one contest to do there. Taff107 said:

Does the % refer to all quests / contracts done and does it include opening or 'de-fogging' the map?Took one look at the new Russia map, de-fogged the 1st Map and now I've decided to take a short break from the game and come back to it in a week or so. Deep snow and impassable trails - I though Imandra was challenging - looks like this one is going to be worse!
I downloaded this from Gamespass and holy st the handling on tarmac is bad. Who knew that you could oversteer a 4WD truck off an asphalt road at 15mph?
I feel like I need tweak the steering sensitivity a bit but the way the vehicle seems to turn in more as speed increases rather than running wider is disconcerting.

With the wrong tyres you will find your vehicle uncontrollable if you lose it down some tarmac inclines!I feel like I need tweak the steering sensitivity a bit but the way the vehicle seems to turn in more as speed increases rather than running wider is disconcerting.
All part of the fun.
There are mods (don't know if they're available on consoles) that make the tyre/suspension performance more realistic so that low pressure, wide tyres for off-road & snow will deform cosmetically and grip better than a higher pressure, narrower road tyre.
Of course there are plenty more 'immersion' mods...such as locking the view to internal or real fuel rate usage, etc.
