The UPS guy who returned the console told Jenny that a kid up the street from us has had to return his 6 times now! Maybe I was just lucky with it lasting two years.
Depends on the box i reckon, sometimes they send the same box back without really fixing the problem. FWIW i've had 2 x360's since they came out and suffered one red-ring so far.Edited by scorp on Thursday 24th April 13:09

Oh no! My 360 has RROD'd on me... will they fix it in time... if it's not back in time I'll have to buy a new machine... I have my pre-order in place from seventeen different places just to be sure and I am going to camp in Tesco from midnight on Friday to make sure I don't miss a single minute of playing time (but my Mum says I have to stop for my tea now.)

FFS! DOES IT MATTER?
It's only a sodding game people. The way you lot carry on anyone would think it was the second coming.
The word you are looking for is PER-SPEC-TIVE ... Get some!
I have a copy on order from Amazon from about two or three weeks ago. It will be here when it gets here. When it does I will play it. In the meantime I will carry on playing the online races in GT5 (but avoiding the PP700 race at Suzuka because it's full of w
rs that just quit when they crash or don't like their start position, or kids who think it's funny to see how many cars they can take out).

In my 25 years of gaming, Ive never seen people so excited about any game launch before.
Chap from GAME said it was easily the biggest/most anticipated launch in over 10 years...

I have a GAME and a Woolworths just down the road from me so I will take my chances either on Monday night or on the Tuesday morning.
GAME open at midnight, and are expecting far too many people to entice me into picking up a copy on the night. I'll get some sleep. They normally open for business at 9 but will be opening their doors at 8am on Tuesday, locally anyway. Check your store. I'll probably turn up at 7:45, will hopefully be near the front of the queue and be out not long after 8. My local store is confident that if a game was reserved, you'll have no problems picking up a copy on the night or the morning after. Not sure in your case if a game wasnt reserved, but as Steve pointed out, there is always argos and woolies, plus WH SMith who dont take pre-orders.If you are in town by 7:45am, with a pre-order or not, Id be surprised if you couldnt walk away with a copy of GTA IV from somewhere.

IF the game DOES sell out, (which may not happen at all) id guess that the sell-out would happen very quickly indeed, as you can bet your life that every snot-nosed-little-brat who didnt pre-order and has school to attend, has already instructed his/her mother to check half a dozen shops in a certain order first thing in the morning.
Its a dead cert that parents will be shopping for kids during the day. Who knows whether the game will sell out on day one or not. I sure as hell dont want to wake up at the arse-crack of dawn on my day off to go shopping, but I will just to be safe because the only thing worse than not getting a copy would be attending the midnight launch
