Starting the preparations and packing for the first European jaunt in the TVR, looking forward to this a lot now.
I will have the spare water pump (to keep up the tradition) and will take along some other bits and pieces which may be useful..
Having got the foldy up chairs in I want to use the alternative method for storing the roof panels flat on the top - Seem to recall their was a thread on this a whie ago, where the panels could sit on top of other luggage, so if the roof does need to go up then its on the top.. Anyone point me back to this or repost please?
Look forward to a beer with some of you in Luxembourg Friday.

Why? You've managed well enough without knowing where you've been going on the previous 6 tours!
Fair comment!Just thought that it is maybe time I dragged myself into the 21st Century and the World of technology?
Having said that the first time I miss a "waypoint" or come across a diversion I shall be totally buggered

Thanks Simon but I think I'm sorted. Bored. Even cleaned the wheels a bit.
Upper steering uj checked and found to be shot, fitted new spare one and found to be just as bad.
New mineral 20/50 1500ppm zddp and filter.
Found a broken ht lead, might nick one from another vehicle, might just leave it. Explains intermittent misfire.
Hopefully there will be something else to bugger about with in the car park at Calais

I've managed ok before Mike, with no real issues to talk of... However, I've also succumbed to the way of the TomTom and bought one which I can actually use this year, rather than one with just UK and Ireland maps on it as per last year.!!!
Me too...sort of. My eldest is driving now, so I bought him a Garmin...obviously one that could upload routes....and now "borrowed" it for the weekend......even come up with a great way to mount on the wood veneer (if it works) as well as a removable, but subtle system to power both it and my phone in the cubby hole at the same time
....need to give my engineering genius skills a rest now....and try not to be too excited about Calais tomorrow...

Check the Garmin works before plugged into whatever you are planning, if not using the supplied cig adaptor they go into mass storage mode. My cig lighter didn't work but I had just planned to use it plugged into the usb port on my sterio, it wouldn't work. ...even come up with a great way to mount on the wood veneer (if it works) as well as a removable, but subtle system to power both it and my phone in the cubby hole at the same time

I do remember seeing an adaptor that was designed for permanent wiring to 12v but can't find it now...
