I have just re-entered TVR ownership with a cheap S2 (yes I know, there's no such thing as a cheap TVR!). I intend to keep this one for a good time, unlike the last ones. It's basically a sound car with decent chassis, good paint and hopefully good mechanicals(after I have sorted the throttle pot type niggles). The interior is however very sad. It needs new carpets and new or rebuilt seats. Does anyone have experience of such work and would you recommend visiting a local trimmer or trying to find replacement seats ?
Any help gratefully recieved

Simon

John Taylor @ Larkfield 01732 840653 did mine. Retrimmed the seat fobs and made new diaphrams to replace the crap rusted wire tosh that was there before.

John does all of WLA's retrimming. Funny bloke, but good.

Can't help with the name of a Trimmer as I'm too far away from you (Devon). But as a guide I have just had some work done locally that was a new passenger carpet which included leather piping around the edge, insulation under, and sewn in "foot mat",retrimmed area of side around wheel arch and under glovebox. On the side I had velcro fitted to gain easy access to wiring loom. I was handed back sufficient carpet to do drivers side carpet as well. Carpet was Wilton - good stuff. Cost £150 inc. vat.If I had shopped around I could probably have got it a bit cheaper but I had to leave the car for a day so logistics came into it.Can't help on the seats, I expect someone will answer that one.
Cheers
John
