Now got the thing running after cleaning all electrical contacts changing various bits etc but now need to sort out the tickover. It ticksover at about 1000 rev but if you blip the throttle when the revs drop back it nearly stalls and then revs up and down for about 5 - 10 seconds before settling down again. It does not sound the smoothest tickover maybe rich? Oh by the way Merry Xmas!!!

Pull the throttle pot conector off and start it up. You will have to use the foot throttle to see if it runs better. If it does then its most likely the pot thats the problem. Presuming you have vain flow metres on the 2.8, check they are free moving and the conectors are clean on all the multiblocks before putting it all back together and trying again.

Main thing is here, not to get frustrated at this problem as it is common to all S cars to have this happen.

Now it could be a sensor. you may not be able to find it yourself without the aid of a good garage with the relevant test gear. Try a few more things and get back on the site to update us. There are a lot of people on here that can help you. good luck.
