Looking for meets in the South West

Not sure if any here follow Haynes Breakfast Club on FB? but there is a lot of uproar currently over Haynes wanting to charge photographers £45 per meet to take photos, they are also (so i have read) attempting to prevent photographers taking photos on the road outside of haynes premisis
It's the right move by Haynes IMHO, too many photographers making money from Haynes event & youtubers creating content. Some of the driving when leaving is for the cameras & i think it'll end in tears before long.Haynes have asked previously attendees to calm down & tried to stop the photographers & crowds outside.

That’s daft. Not sure how they think their site is worth that to photographers? I could get shots of cars lined up in a Waitrose car park, without getting my feet wet or having to put up with excitable twonks who can’t leave without redlining. I’ve only been once, to an Italian breakfast meet and it was less interesting and less diverse than expected. Can’t get excited about paying to go back and certainly wouldn’t give them any extras for the privilege of taking a few photos.

Your experience and views sound similar to mine. The more local meet at Morwellham has a greater diversity of cars with a lot of welcome photographers who freely share their work. Just found out that this is on this weekend, having been cancelled from earlier in the year.

I was looking at that yesterday. I am in WSM on Saturday killing time while my wife does her volunteering stuff, so I suspect me and Fred the Westie will take a wander along the sea front for a nose around. https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=851be3ee8ca...

The first Long Ashton Cars & Coffee meet is at Gatcombe Farm / The Greedy Goose, Long Ashton on Sunday June 2nd 08.30 - 10.30. The restaurant will be opening up early serving, coffee and breakfasts (which are very nice !). Everyone welcome !
Is that going to be a monthly event do you know?Yertis said:
