If travelling on the A350 between Lacock an Melksham you need to be careful of the layby's near Beanacre, if you see a high spec, very clean, dark coloured Mondeo or 3 series saloon, they are clocking you and then a patrol car picks you up at the BP station or the layby by the church.

Silver Octavia with an extra aerial on the roof joined the M5 at Exeter this afternoon, blues flashing behind the grill and in the reverse light lenses, saw it the other week on A30 by Exeter airport, thought it was a B.I.B. now confirmed.

I saw this, and also a BMW 1 series F*56*** iirc. Both had little blues at the base of the windscreen.

Green Range Rover Vogue HS5* *RJ on the way to Cheltenham from Brum - pulled me over in for a flickering rear light about midnight. Very pleasant chaps actually - did all the usual checks (car and driver) then sent me on my way once I'd reattached the loose connector.

Black Mondeo around J8 (M50) of M5 - looked like a hotted up version, with strobes attached by suckers to the rear window clearly visible. Not the harmless repmobile it appears, even if they were driving it like one...

If light colour cars are accepted as being more visible and therefore safer, and the police keep declaring that safety is paramount, I would like to hear their justification for having mostly dark cars on their unmarked fleet.

What makes them stand out from other cars. I drive all over the south west and this could be very useful to me! I would like to return the favour but I'm not certain how to pick them out.
Becks, if they are following you then look carefuly at the front grill, you will see a little square thing which is the blue light behind the grill on the drivers side! although i have done this a few times and found myself zig-zagging cos im looking behind so much!!!
also the cars are prestine clean, several arials, the drivers are 'always' well dressed and clean and gerenally speaking the cars are either brand new or a year or so old.

if you keep a steady speed (i.e 80ish) and keep in a group of traffic, they cant pick you out of a croud - in theory! lol

Careful pulling the "Ive only had this a few days" wheeze, when they check your car details on the radio, date of commencement of ownership is available.
