Sorry for necroposting, but anyone know what's doing in/west of Exeter these days? I've been bashing up and down the A30 between the A377 and A388 for a while now and have been known to... make progress... always noticed a derelict lorry parked on a bridge over the A30? Hope that isn't a cunningly disguised speed trap. Only hassle I've had was in my 535i, had a young lad in a VW Polo tailgating me as I headed west past Okehampton. He stuck with me to 100mph but then the long straight past Roadford Lake opened up and I was able to leave him for dead. Also had a Kia Picanto all over my backside in the 760 on the A386 from Folly Gate to Little Torrington... he couldn't keep up on the straights but had me under braking every time. The local drivers are generally pretty keen in their driving style!

The lorry on the bridge over the A30 between Okehampton and Launceston has been there for around a decade

Unmarked (Bright green) Skoda Octavia estate - regularly seen on that stretch of A30

There is an unused slip road heading West just after the Liftondown turn off - plod hides up there occasionally. Camera van regularly on the bridge just after this spot also.

And yeah, the old abandoned wagon has been parked since I first came down here in 2008.

I see absolutely stacks of unmarked Police cars on the A350 between Melksham, Trowvegas and heading to and from Devizes. Always dark coloured 5 series of X5 BMWs with very stern looking drivers, wearing MIB sunglasses. When ever I see either of those types of cars, the first place I look are the kidney grilles - the light packs are mounted there.

Double check your rear view mirror next time you have a sombre coloured Beemer up your chuff. And watch your speed, of course wink

Brand new black Volvo Estate - WF13 XRO - usual discreet lights behind front grille and high up inside back window frown
It’s still in use - spotted yesterday on the A30 near Launceston.

They caught someone on the A30 a day or so back after the driver accelerated having passed a speed camera van

There was a fairly conspicuous BMW X5 on the A303 around Andover on Tuesday. Grille lights were fairly prominent.

Are you certain it was a 'Teg?
Asking as I live in Melksham and got my only speeding award in 2003 from an unmarked, red, Accord Type R - figured it might be the same car lol
