Where does south west finish and midlands begin? Think Worcs, Herefordshire & Glous will have to check both out!

Oxford is the top rightmost point of south west really.

Unless there's a south central (which I doubt) you have to determine the most southerly point from which to decide 'to the left is west and to the right is east'.

For me I would say that Southampton would be the base of that line, and then go north 'till you get to Oxford (ish). Then take that line over to the left to the tip of South Wales.

This is exactly the way my company splits our 4 regions and seems to be logical...

I'm going to scan both the south coast and south west as I reckon Poole/Bournemouth could be included in either / both !

I slice it up by county. Cornwall, Dorset, Somerset are South West. Wiltshire and Gloucestershire are West Country. Worcestershire is definitely West Midlands. Herefordshire and Shropshire are The Marches (aka Bandit Country). South Coast is Hants , Sussex and all that lot. Home Counties is Surrey Bucks etc.

Bounemouth has only been in Dorset for a few years (about 30 I think). Certainly people from Bournemouth sound different to proper Poole-ites.

So is it the sunshine you don't like, or the fact that you have reduced the local average age in Bournmouth by 20 years, that making you want to move??

What's Bristol, then?

Nice view of the suspension bridge from my office window (and Ashton Gate football ground )

Never mind Bristol - what happened to Devon? or is there a big gap between Dorset/Somerset and Cornwall? Does the M5 finish at Wellington now?
