Hello all,

Wanted to say a quick thanks for all the help i've received on here over the last year with my 1983 280i. Since I bought it it's been one niggle after another - I could never drive it for more than an hour straight without something going wrong. But whenever a problem reared it's head, the group on here have always been full of advice and even sent me some parts. And it's all paid off

Last week I drove it into the Brecon Beacons - about 160 miles there and back on all manner of roads - and it handled them all like a champ (bar slipping down into 2nd gear at 70 MPH). Roaring down twisty mountain roads with the top down feels like exactly what it was made to do. Feel like it was worth all the effort for the trip alone!

So cheers again and may you all find as much pleasure in your machines. What a car.

Don't worry skydriver - fully expect it to explode under me next time I take it to the shops.

My ownership of TVRs has taught me tomorrow is always another day and just because it is running sweetly today doesn’t mean that it will tomorrow!

I never noticed the location of the side repeaters on a wedge was under the door mirror.

That's an unusual one, they are more often on the wing.

Now it's running, use it often, and it will stay that way!

The side indicators are doubly strange as they aren't wired up. Who knows when they last worked, but I've got to take them off every time I have an MOT now.

I will keep driving it, don't worry! Sold my other car a while ago as I mostly cycle, so it gets several run outs a week.
