Unfortunately not possible as my heads are Wildcats and not RV8, so the shape / size is different.

Manifolds are not easy to remove either..
But you could remove one and make a template with a sheet of paper (just run your greasy finger around the edge and the mounting holes.)

I see you are still in the Gulf livery! ;^)

Had a bit of trouble starting the car after the new cam had been run in for 25 mins..

Decided the old battery was partly to blame as it only turned the engine over for 4 good turns then started to fade quickly.

It was 7 years old, so not too bad really.

Decided on a type 096R, dimensions are 278L x 175W x 190H, specifications are 12V 74Ah 680A £65 with a 4 year guarantee from Tayna batteries
but these are a tight fit. Bit of filing required.

Next my old leads were a bit rubbish, 10mm but the plug caps kept pulling off, so 10mm get no recommendations here, so I have not fitted a set of
bespoke 8.5mm leads from Mr Retro Leads. All custom made to length, with angled plug caps. All in £80. Very reasonable.

Next, cleaned the plugs and treated them to a bit of heat with a blow torch to get rid of any fuel, that was after 2 hours of searching my workshop
for the plug sandblaster. I'm convinced there is a portal to another world in my workshop, things disappear and reappear at random.

Now for the good news, the car started second turn.

Sadly the video cut just before I started to rev it a bit.. frown

It's an interesting noise!

Your garage wall looks a bit rough. I put a strip of carpet on mine where the door edge meets it, to save the door.

Yes, breeze block. I have a section of carpet on the wall by the drivers door.

My next job if to hot adjust the tappets to 22 thou, as the cam is now run-in.

It's a small garage, so the noise and fumes on start-up are not great. Also there is no plenum
to stop the valve noise. Probably better with the bonnet on but for some reason my fans have stopped working
another job on the list before I put the bonnet on and take it for a spin down the road.

I've got a bit of old drain pipe so I can extend out the exhaust out a window at the back of the garage.

I have some metal pipe as the first extension and wrap a damp cloth around it, to keep it cooled off and broadly sealed, then plastic pipe from there, as long as you're sensible with the throttle (no flames etc) the plastic pipe survives.

Or you could drive it in forwards.

Ran the engine up to temp on Sunday and hot adjusted the tappets.

22 thou.

Not a nice job removing hot spark plugs.

Some good news - I found my spark plug cleaner. Result.

Fitted a new relay on the engine fans.

Also an override switch and led so I can tell when the fans are running.

Fitted new front pads today, tried yesterday, but couldn’t get calliper pistons to fully retract.
Quick trio to machine mart to buy the right tool, no problem. Fitted new pins clips and springs as well.
Once it stops pissing down I’ll take it for a drive and bed them in.
