Hiss from brake pedal.
Discussion
Hi,
Yesterday I noticed that as I press the brake pedal there is a slight hiss, like air escaping. Haven't had a chance to have a proper look yet. Brakes still act and feel as normal. Perhaps it's always been there and I've never noticed over the engine/road noise etc.
If I turn off the engine and pump the pedal a few times the noise will stop as the pedal stiffens.
Possible leak in the pipe going to the servo?
Any thouhgts?
Thanks
Tony

Hello,
I think that my wedge does this too, and I assumed that it was just air escaping from the rubber gaiter in the foot well when it is compressed. As the pedal gets harder after being pressed a few times, the gaiter doesn't get compressed as much so less air escapes, reducing the "hiss".
If this is the cause, then I would say that theres nothing to worry about as the rubber gaiter just stops dirt from getting into the system etc.
