Should the judiciary wish to know. I can neither confirm nor deny that I was on the Avid 1500. Not until such point in time as I address my lawyer and pay the inevitable substantive retainer.
I can however state that my journey back into CHCH, driving the Sagaris (It's owner having 28 days to contemplate a better radar detector), was rather timid. (and deafening).

Brilliant. I wondered who drove the Sag back.
I was almost co-pilot in the Sag that morning and possibly would have been the one to drive it back had I been. Having been driven up to Chc in the GT40, it would have nicely bookended the trip. That said, the Jaguar was a more than worthy vehicle to travel in!

Stumbled across this thread and interesting seeing the car scene in New Zealand, having been lucky enough to visit back in 2018. Drove ~2k miles around North/South Island in a crappy Toyota Hertz rental car and received a speeding ticket 5 months later from Napier police.😞 Hadn’t realised that you guys imported a bucketload of British cars in the 50s-60s like eType jags etc. Must be one of the largest markets outside of UK for classic British cars.

The "Tardis"... I have no idea how that man shoehorn's himself into that car. I have to fiddle with the Gallardo seat for about 10 minutes before I can get it almost comfortable with knees buckled and hair product liberally coating the roof lining. Believe it or not, the Cerbera, although substantially lower, is considerably roomier.

There is an absolute tonne of TVR's here in NZ. However, much as they do in the UK, they spend most of their time awaiting love. It's hard to say, but my Italian Audi ( Gallardo) is exponentially more reliable.

Besides, Toyota rental cars are considerably quicker than a howling AJP V8 or Lambo V10. Note the Uno Turbo mixed in with the supercars. The owner is simply a madman, and managed to hang with, if not pass, most of the group.

Lovely stuff Esprit. A friend and I took our respective 2-seaters for a last run yesterday before laying them both up for winter maintenance. Talk about chalk and cheese.

Some people with great taste in this country!

Let me know if you ever tire of your nsx dobly. I’m in chch but using it mainly for SI roadies at the moment.

Well now here's a blast from the past!
I haven't been on here in YEARS!
Looking at My Garage, I've had 4 family cars since I last updated that.
But now I actually have a couple of fun things as well.

First up is my first classic car.
I found this 1976 Triumph 2500 TC in Waimate. I was a bit put off with it being an auto, but its was in such got condition for the price I couldn't pass on it. Had it about 6 months now and I love it to bits.

Second on the lots is the little mistake. My wife spotted this while she was in Chch and fell in love. She was meant to be looking for a car for our oldest daughter to drive, when I got behind the wheel of this modified 2003 Mini Cooper S, I knew we had failed there. BUT we now had a fun car!
Booked in for my first track day in mid Feb. Cant wait!

Hope everyone is getting out in their motors this summer. Its been a scorcher here in Canterbury lately.
