I remeber how they used to occasionally fill the old Timaru stock-car track (out near Levels raceway) with water to turn it into a JetSprint course also meant it was nice and muddy for the cars the next few times they had meetings there.

It looked pretty overgrown and unused last time I was at Levels, so I guess it got the chop when people built houses next to it and then complained about the noise... the same people who caused Levels to have to end racing by 5-30pm iirc, despite there also being an airport a couple of paddocks away.

I cant remember going to those or maybe it was a more recent thing. Its all good entertaining stuff

Anything with a big, powerful, noisy V8 that goes fast and makes you suck up your applie-pickers has got to be a good thing.

Isn't there a touristy place somewhere on the way down south that you can go around a circuit in a jet boat? I think they even let you drive. Of course it'll be low power, low speed but it might be a good way to have a taste.

The shot-over is pants. Not at all scarey. Mind you, we went on it just after flying down to Milford sound in a MK1 Cortina with wings (never again!) and then given a demonstation of why helicoptors are so much cooler than planes by some frustrated air-wolf type. The best rollercoaster ride I've ever had! Forget the sh1t-over, just do two helicopter rides!

You mean they hadn't rusted off?
