Transfer of Investments back to UK

Hi All,

I have a modest portfolio of stocks (both direct ownership and ETF) in the USA that i'm steadily growing while living here.

Rough plan is return to UK in 2022.

Does anyone have any knowledge of how I transfer assets like that back to UK? Is it as simple as I just change my details with the broker and off I go?

The broad context here is that this may inform how I continue to invest over next couple of years. If getting stuff out of the US is a nightmare I may look to set up a fund in the UK instead.
