Likewise mine's garaged and I have nearly always fitted the roof when it's parked.

Tvr mads dashes are good,I've had no problem fitting them over the years...fitted loads. Major problem with any of the tvr veneer dash is temp change and dash plates fitted under tension. Should get 5-10 years without cracking
I reckon mine was around 8 years old before it showed any signs of cracking. Thought I was going to get away with it.

Is it possible to make the backing plate out of another material that has a similar thermal co-efficient of expansion as the veneer ? MDF would be mechanically stable but I guess it would have problems with moisture absorption.

Have you tried actually phoning him ? What have you paid him for, how was it arranged, what have you done to try to contact him etc. etc. etc. 5 weeks isnt that long, try getting a speedo fixed by speedy cables!

Nice first post BTW , so much fail, amazed the PH post police havent been all over this yet.

My favourite is MINUETE - Not surprised he's not been in touch if you're offering to dance with him wink

ETA: 192.com only shows 2 people with that name in Somerset so he shouldnt be too hard to track down....

No, but there's a chap called Malc Hall (ex-Mulliners) who's company is London Carriage Craft Ltd. who has done some great work with TVR dashboards. I don't know if he's on Pistonheads and the search facility is pretty crap but he's on Facebook.

Top bloke, done two of my dashes over the years. If you search the internet for London Carriage Craft you should be able to find his contact details.

Tes, obviously a scammer that been doing this for many years. He have several identities on Ebay and will probably try to sell the dash after having apropriate time passed.
Really dont know what to do to get it back.

I sent Rupert Cummings my wooden interior and then he refused to reply to my emails or reply to my messages. He had my parts for 3 months. He’s one to avoid as I reckon he hopes you’ll give up.

How did you manage to get your dash back? From what I heard from others he even after get paid didnt send their stuff back. They lost their dash and on top of that a considerable amount of money.
I sent him my dash on Aug 8 last year and it now passed 6 month. Gives me little hope of an happy ending.
Only wish I googled this man before sending him anything.
Would like to get in touch with other victims of this scammer.

Hi there. I drove down to the address I sent my interior parts to after contacting Rupert Cummings. Glittney farm. I pretended to be a different customer dropping off a complete Jag wood interior and Rupert agreed to meet me. He had no idea it was a set up !!
I arrived early and the Landlord showed me the barn where Rupert worked. It was a disgrace, and I could see my glove box through the slats of the barn surrounded by other cappings and bits of interiors. It was just dumped ! The Farmer left me to wait and he went off in his car so I made entry which wasn’t difficult.. took my bits and left before Rupert arrived as I would have knocked him out. 20 mins later Rupert began calling me on my 2nd phone which I didn’t answer, as he never returned my calls I thought that was fair ! I only sank to his levels after he forced me to.
Chapman and Cliff have just returned my wooden bits and they are fantastic. I hope Rupert reads this..
