OK Thanks for that.
Stu, sad to see you go, but i get your point. Hope your still showing up here once in a while. Remember, it was your pic on the first page of this thread that got me into this in the first place I'm strongly expecting things to speed up over the next months and also have the progress communicated.
@bomb
Don't know if your speaking out of interest, but i think if you get in contact with someone who wants to return you might directly take his position in the queue. But this requires confirmation/consultation from/with TVR first !

Cheers bullit and yes of course, will keep popping in to see how the discussion is going. I hope TVR can deliver and have every intention of buying the new Griffith one day be it a new convertible or Targa. I'm strongly expecting things to speed up over the next months and also have the progress communicated.

Just curious really. Watching from the sidelines. Having seen the car its growing on me. A lot. The people who persist in criticizing the car, the look of the 'face', the interior, the choice of wheels.......and so it goes on - just depresses me. I am genuinely excited about the new car, and can appreciate the problems they are having with Brexit, funding, testing, sourcing parts etc.....
I would love to see them be a resounding success.
All I have to do is convince my wife. How hard can it be ??
The thought of an LE launch car is tweeking my interest.

Does anyone have any definitive answer to how many people have left deposits at the current time?
What do you mean with "left" ? People that have had their deposits returned or people who have put a deposit down and left it with TVR?I sometimes wonder how representative the group here in this forum is. I get this is an enthusiasts-forum (though that's really not always obvious from the posts ) and obviously patience is wearing thin, but there must be way larger group out there holding on to the deposits, and maybe people are queuing up.
Can't say that i'm satisfied with the news-flow either, but maybe other people simply aren't looking every 2 hours for news as some here (me included) do, thereby raising perceived pressure. In any case, i don't think it would be wise for TVR to take part in this discussion as there is no chance to please everybody and anything they'd post here would inevitably come back to haunt them.
They are well aware of the discussion and expectations expressed here, but their style of communicating doesn't change. What does that tell us ? They either regard it as insignificant (which would actually be a good thing, because that would mean they are confident about their progress and what complainers here mean to their business). Or they are about to fold anyway and don't dare to communicate more. I think (hope?) that it's the first one and it's simply their style of communicating and customer interaction. That doesnt' mean i like it and it may come accross as if they didn't care, but hey, it's not us running the show. They'll have their reasons.
So what can be done ? Everybody is free to call it quits, and some people do and the number seems to be growing. It's something they will be aware of and for unknown reasons are risking far too easily imo, but maybe they indeed have people queuing up so they just see it as inevitable noise. Don't know what to make of it. I'm sure that things will speed up over the next months and i'm looking forward to it. I still want the car. And we shouldn't forget one thing: despite the public reveal and various articles, this thing has not hit center stage yet.
Que sera, sera.
I hear you Bullitt but it is very frustrating when someone asks me where my Chimaera is (sold it last year) and during the conversation about TVRs in general they look at me in amazement when I say a new TVR is being built and there is a prototype. Most of my friends are car people, in the trade yet have zero knowledge of a new TVR in the pipeline. Its almost like its a secret.

I confirm that this is the case, I've sold my deposit to someone else and he took my place in the queue.Zeb74 said:

I think that's actually a good thing. Imagine what they would say if they'd have participated in this forum for the last 3 years I'm keeping my deposit in until I know what my car will look like. From my discussions with Paul I think his name was, he said they may offer the option to add carbon brakes, bodykit etc. If that doesn't happen and the griff still looks the same, I'll be asking for my deposit back - regardless of how good the TVR may be on track due to Professor Murray, I'd rather have a 720s or Aventador as I don't think I can live with the hyundai/toyota looks, especially knowing IF they survive after the first 500 cars, there will be a more aggressive car waiting in the (flared) wings.
I just want to say, I think Les has got into bed with the wrong people and he thinks he has gone too far to not start again - it's never too late, just go back to the drawing board, yes, the real drawing board.
