Absolutely love this!!!

I adore the Speed Six, I think it’s bloody glorious, but I have absolutely zero objection to what you’re doing- it’s engineering artistry, and will result in a big power RWD car with a great manual gearbox, and ultimately less weight and biased further rearwards than standard- what is not to love here!!! I can’t believe the grief you came in for earlier in the thread, shocking! It’s a TVR, it left the factory made of superglue and mashed potato, who gives a damn about originality rolleyes

This thing is going to look fabulous, drive great, and you should be bloody proud smile

…. But it won’t sound as good as a Speed Six and anyone who says so needs to go sit in the naughty bin redcard

I think this is a cool project, hope it goes well and you enjoy it.

If it were me I'd probably find a Busso 3.0, put AHM throttle bodies and swap the cams for a fruitier set, might not be the fastest thing but oh, the noise!

Oh any suggestions / upgrades please advise as I will have to take care of them

For example:

- Handling / steering upgrades (planning to do some track use) - Been discussed many times in the forum. From spacing the steering rack to fitting Sag steering ends. Searchy searchy in the forums.
Worth reading this thread - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
Look what popped up over the weekend - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Didn't someone squeeze one into an 'S' a while back?

Hello again, we did have some updated over the summer.

Nitrons were rebuilt:
Springs, sway bar and suspension componets sandblasted and powdercoated in black.

Sagaris steering arms were bought / fitted:

Furthemore a Power steering pump was fitted (I will have to revert on that with pictures and specs) and looking to use the spacers.
What spacers are you guys using again?

A rather potentially dangerous issue that we would (not want to) face would be the very high temperatures due to the turbo kit fitment.

The engine bay (and not only) was not designed to withhold such high temperatures so a drastic solution had to take place to maximise safety and performance.

Well here is our heatshield solution - thermowrap / thermoinsulation and its very efficient and very expensive.

But it works damn well.

I would still recommend applying something to the underside of the bonnet, even stock Speed 6 cars can get blistered paintwork. Not sure how the engine is now mounted but the mount bushes on the standard engine don't last long with the heat from the manifold.

j, someone put a Jag engine in a TVR S, these people are inventive, use what they know, understand and have available and then it is us who benefit from them having the balls to try something different..
I too have just stumbled on this great thread - I am the second person who has fitted a Jag engine into the TVR S. Out of the box it has 265bhp and revs to 7200. This is the same engine that Noble use and with very little work can give 500 with a turbo. Sounds great too.

Looking forward to seeing/hearing your car. Keep up the great work.

At first glance I thought it was a simple heat blanket, but from the closeups I can see it's much nicer. I'd be interested to know what product it is too.

GTRene & Byker28i & GreenV8S  -  It's not a material that you can use and fit yourself (unless of course you have the tools and skills. - we did try and it was not easy and the result was not up to the quality we have set for the rest of the build). In fact it's ceramic wool + stainless shield spot welding.

Process is similar to this (video looks a bit amature to be honest and finish is relatively poor compared to our components finish):

After reseach we used this company:

magpies - Wow !! Interesting - upload some pics if you like.

It was test weekend for the car.
First time I drove it properly and got to know each other.

Interesting car - I like it !!
Loads of rattles though from the interior though...

ah... way to difficult for me, I thought already so beuatiful done, like a work of art and how its made together, so looking at that video for example, its crazy work to get it top notch.

I guess also very expensive, but it looks like a work of art, and it is, so I guess pricy :-) but special.

If I ever buy a Turbo car again and it needs some heatshield, I buy a Turbo sok, lol and wrap the pipes and keep my hood closed on say a meeting lol.

That lagging looks very well done but any concerns where the heat now goes?
That turbo is going to get extremely hot.

Looks great. Aside from the usual places in the tunnel for heat shield, you’ll definitely need to put some heat shield on the underside of the bonnet above where the exhaust manifold and turbo sits. The heat soak will scorch the paint otherwise.

Well hello guys, yeap she is complete and she drives !!

Here are some test runs before the dyno (was taking it easy up to 4 - 4,500rpm) as the map on the ECU (AEM Series 2) was setup sometime ago for an S2000. Just wanted to run checks, observe temperatures, potential leakes etc. Here are a couple of videos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tft8tFO5278

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wb22cJuvko

So far, I do like a lot how light the car feels and the fact that it all feels natural / oem behind the wheel.

Even though she has been sitting idle for sometime and she has been in and out of garages, I think she still looks good (there will be some detailing taking place after all works have been completed ofcourse). I am proud that everything is still original on the outside and everything fits under the hood nicely.

Next post will be from the dyno - we will run a basic map so that the car can safely be driven whilst we are sorting out small - time / money consuming details.
