I don’t get the fuel system dig !! A lot of factory cars run pumps and filters under the car and it is tucked up out of the way , it’s how it’s done . Nowadays they are all in tank with one feed out but still goes under the car , and what system runs 110 psi ??? None I’ve ever seem 58 psi is modern LS , look under a golf gti , Sierra cosworth, tvr etc etc the list goes on you will see pump hanging under the floor , but hey what do they know ?? . Anyway bloody fantastic car a real credit to craig !!!!

Am I right in thinking the Lucas system runs around 5 bar ? Which is very high but only from engine pump to injectors not from the tank like we are talking about ??
Lucas PI is very high pressure from pump to injector - but the pump is usually electric and in the boot. The unit on the side of the engine is the distribution block that just connects the high pressure inlet to the appropriate injector outlet based on position in the 4 stroke cycle. One of the main issues with Lucas PI is getting the pressure high-enough...using a Lucas windscreen wiper motor, something they only just managed fresh off the forecourt.

cwin,
Apologies for a delayed response - only saw your previous reply in Feb to my criticism (constructive, I hope!) today.
Very glad to hear that you have protected the fuel lines etc since the photograph - and intended to before I wrote! Fitting fuel handling parts where thye are vulnerable to road hazards (Ford Pinto, anyone?) has never seemd wise to me.
And thanks to those who explained Lucas Pi to those who didn't know about it. Triumph were the first to use fuel injection in a mass-market production car. Lucas Pi was used by Maserati and Ferrari in their limited productions, and by Jaguar and Ford for competition vehicles, so it wasn't the limp-wristed bodge that it is often seen as. But Triumph omitted to invest in training its dealers technicians in this world first. So doing the best they could on seeing it for the first time, they tuned it like a carburettor, and often lost the plot entirely, lin the process losing any reputation that Pi had.
This undeserved road to ill-repute wasn't repeated when VW brought in the much cruder Bosch K-Jetronic, also mechanical, but single point, continuous flow injection, based very much on CAV-Bosch diesel experience, which swept the board.

Love threads like this!
Do people know about Neil brown's Stag engined TR5 (actually a imported TR250 with RHD conversion I think) ..
Makes just over 250hp on my dyno. The power is still climbing but drops off sharply with a misfire which Neil thinks might be valve bounce as it's built on std but used/old valve springs, it's nowhere near the limiter.
These projects are great.

Hi folks! I’m the lucky new owner.
The more I research the luckier I get.
So here we have a sleeper that looks like a wannabe TR4 rally car that will outrun just about anything you can think of. I also own a BMW M6 competition and it’s way quicker than that. (590 bhp and 700Nm) oh and it’s not bogged down with all the electrickery. See you in a hedge sometime soon.
