Hey all, got a issue with a control arm i purchased for the fiesta 3 years ago. i buy the parts when on offer and kept in storage till i need to use them and when i came to use it i noticed one of the studs for the ball joint is not seated correctly (yes i should have inspected this at time of delivery but stuff happens). I contacted Meyle who confirmed its a warranty issue but Meyle dont make the part any more and told me to go back to the retailer. Retailer is not responding to my messages since im guessing its over the 1 year period and retailers normally redirect you back to the manufacturer.

Not sure how this is going to pan out Meyle communication is good but no resolution in sight. its a £30 part so not a huge loss but kind of learnt that the Meyle 4 year warranty is not to be trusted.

iv attached pics in wondering if the wishbone is still useable with the 3rd balljoint stud not being seated correctly. stud is solid and no movement but pics should show the details.

It is fine, the rivet has dislodged slightly when it was formed, however the internal bit that holds it in place will still have formed into the hole & that end that you can see cannot possibly be pulled through the hole.

Yes use it, that rivet is going nowhere

If you're really bothered about it, remove the rivet and use a bolt washers and locking nut

Am real fussy but would definitely use the part as is

Who'd have thought it could possibly pan out like that?

I've always wondered how the Meyle HD 4 year warranty worked in practice and I'd assumed it was more of a marketing gimmick.

Seems I was wrong, good on them, it's rare these days that a company stands behind their products like then, especially when they only cost £30 in the first place.
